We loved staying in such an elegant historic castle, with a Renaissance flavour and moats! Our room was vast, so was our bathroom. It was very comfortable and cosy, the walls of our room covered in beautiful and colourful textiles. The castle is decorated with great taste and a unique flavour to it; it was recently redecorated by the Prince. Many objects there, such as butterflies, come from his famous 'cabinet de curiosités' Deyrolle, located on rue du bac in Paris.
We strolled in the very large park for more than two hours among its huge trees. We visited the 'conservatoire de la tomate' with hundreds of different colourful tomatoes, some with strange shapes! And there was an interesting exhibition of contemporary artists. Apparently the castle is a showcase for sustainable development.
Altogether, a wonderful experience.
