Just got back last night, had a great time, Hotel is ok, rooms genrally very small, but clean, staff can tell you to keep keeping it down when sitting by the pool drinkin etc, but genrally are ok? hotel is not far from "A" beach it just happens to be a very quiet beach, about 15/20 min walk from live,busy, young beaches...Our room was broken into and camara & some money stolen, keep your suitcases locked at all times and i mean all times, we just popped out for breakfast next door and was not gone for more than an hour, kinnda dampend the mood, expensive where ever you go for food, best suggestion go to the supermarket about 5 mins walk and by food for the room!! SPACE HED KANDI best night i had......."Leave the world behind you" would def go back to Ibiza, but mabey worth paying abit more for the nicer hotels near to main shops, restaurants, bars, clubs etc...

We went to Ibiza as a half party (May/June 2009 Opening Fiestas) and half relax mode. The place is a good bang for your buck. My main concerns are roaches in a hotel, and I did not see any (or any bug for that matter). There was good space, decent bed, decent bath... let's just say everything decent. But again we didn't go there to stay in the hotel all day, so no complaints. The staff was helpful..maybe a little cool up front but after talking to them nicely for a bit and getting advice they warmed up and were friendly.

They were walking distance to Figueretas beach (boardwalk area), about 10 min from Pacha (by taxi) 10 min in a different direction from Space, 10 min to the port... the walk to the port is about 45 minutes I think? If you get a moped for €20 a day you can get anywhere fairly quickly. You can find them anywhere. I also recommend Prince of Colours for breakfast on Figueretas.

BTW You can hear people in the halls.. don't recommend for light sleepers, but again, I had no problems sleeping.

Initially we did not have to deal with the staff much since our the trip operator had already checked us into our room. Upon inspection of our room it was very clean but the patio door lock was broken. there was some discussion about switching rooms but we had an end unit with a wrap around balcony and terrific view even though it was on a lower floor. So we wedged the door and had been told it would be fixed soon. after several reminders over the first part of our trip someone finally came to look on about the 5th or 6th day, but only looked and never returned.

The staff was so so friendly, but you had to be social with them or they were very cold. There were often clash's with guests over there ridiculous policy not to let anyone into the building who was not staying there. I can understand taking measures to avoid out of control parties in the rooms but you should be able to have your friends who are staying at other places in for a drink. We repeatedly had to walk 30mins down the beech to our friends hotel (Garbi) prior to heading out.

To it's credit, the rooms seemed to be fairly clean, and we slept well since it was in a little quieter area. the location was not bad since it was centered between Ibiza town and Playa D'en Bossa

next time we will stay at Garbi!

On our arrival we were "greeted" by a "not-so-happy" guy at the reception desk that seemed to just throw the keys of the apartment at us, especially after we politely asked whether we could have an apartment at the the 2nd floor or higher.

Security seem to be the job of a very aggressive Morrocan guy, who didn't speak any clear English or Spanish, and was always looking to start and argument. He seemed to own the place at night time and took full advantage of that position, treating people as if they were always doing something wrong, even if we were just walking into our room. Only at the reception desk at Playa Sol I you would find reasonable people wanting to listen to you as a paying customer, but they were not there all the time.

All in all, i wouldn't recommend that place to anyone, unless you want to be treated like cr@p and be laughed at by people that shouldn't be allowed to work in hospitality, and behave as if they were doing you a favour for allowing you to stay at their hotel.
