When we arrived at Playa Sol II we checked in and signed all the forms and paid for our stay. Money was being dealt with by my friend and she accidentally left her money wallet on the counter - she realised this the next morning to speak to the receptionist who was now different. No money had been left, we went back time and time again and kept on at them and even asked to see the CCTV - one of the other receptionists then told us that they had seen the male receptionist take the money off the counter - since this incident he had called in sick everyday!! The manager told my friend that he would not reimburse her then and there as he needed both sides of the story - even though we were leaving (why he needed both sides of the story when the evidence was clear is beyond me). We left with the manager's number and email address and his word that he would get her money back to her.

Since coming back to London he has dodged her calls and emails have bounced back. The man who runs this hotel is not honest and neither are the awful staff.

Just got back last night, had a great time, Hotel is ok, rooms genrally very small, but clean, staff can tell you to keep keeping it down when sitting by the pool drinkin etc, but genrally are ok? hotel is not far from "A" beach it just happens to be a very quiet beach, about 15/20 min walk from live,busy, young beaches...Our room was broken into and camara & some money stolen, keep your suitcases locked at all times and i mean all times, we just popped out for breakfast next door and was not gone for more than an hour, kinnda dampend the mood, expensive where ever you go for food, best suggestion go to the supermarket about 5 mins walk and by food for the room!! SPACE HED KANDI best night i had......."Leave the world behind you" would def go back to Ibiza, but mabey worth paying abit more for the nicer hotels near to main shops, restaurants, bars, clubs etc...

We went to Ibiza as a half party (May/June 2009 Opening Fiestas) and half relax mode. The place is a good bang for your buck. My main concerns are roaches in a hotel, and I did not see any (or any bug for that matter). There was good space, decent bed, decent bath... let's just say everything decent. But again we didn't go there to stay in the hotel all day, so no complaints. The staff was helpful..maybe a little cool up front but after talking to them nicely for a bit and getting advice they warmed up and were friendly.

They were walking distance to Figueretas beach (boardwalk area), about 10 min from Pacha (by taxi) 10 min in a different direction from Space, 10 min to the port... the walk to the port is about 45 minutes I think? If you get a moped for €20 a day you can get anywhere fairly quickly. You can find them anywhere. I also recommend Prince of Colours for breakfast on Figueretas.

BTW You can hear people in the halls.. don't recommend for light sleepers, but again, I had no problems sleeping.

Initially we did not have to deal with the staff much since our the trip operator had already checked us into our room. Upon inspection of our room it was very clean but the patio door lock was broken. there was some discussion about switching rooms but we had an end unit with a wrap around balcony and terrific view even though it was on a lower floor. So we wedged the door and had been told it would be fixed soon. after several reminders over the first part of our trip someone finally came to look on about the 5th or 6th day, but only looked and never returned.

The staff was so so friendly, but you had to be social with them or they were very cold. There were often clash's with guests over there ridiculous policy not to let anyone into the building who was not staying there. I can understand taking measures to avoid out of control parties in the rooms but you should be able to have your friends who are staying at other places in for a drink. We repeatedly had to walk 30mins down the beech to our friends hotel (Garbi) prior to heading out.

To it's credit, the rooms seemed to be fairly clean, and we slept well since it was in a little quieter area. the location was not bad since it was centered between Ibiza town and Playa D'en Bossa

next time we will stay at Garbi!
