We enjoyed our AI trip to Iberostar Cayo Guillermo very much. We were a family of 11, 4 children and 7 adults. The food was wonderful, far better than most resorts, with a good selection to satisfy everyone in our group. The grounds were wonderfully clean and maintained, however, there were not enough floral displays for some of us. The views were amazing everytime you looked out. The kite surfers were really enjoying the surf. We stayed in Baracoa, on the top floor and I would recommend this building well maintained. The rooms were dated and not as lux as some would like but I wasn't there to live in my room. Beds were a little uncomfortable, and all the pillows need replaced(pay attention Iberostar, low cost, increased satisfaction). Fresh towels and very clean rooms everyday. Very quiet in the evening which worked out well for us with kids. Pools were lovely, beach was beautiful. The STAFF were wonderful...helpful in every way, not condescending, great with the kids. We all enjoyed WALTER at the grill in the buffet restaurant, fantastic cook and an all-round good man. JUAN CARLOS with all his assistance made our vacation so much easier in arranging snorkelling for us, trip to Pilar. This isn't easy with a group of our size. My girls loved him and he was always pleasant even when he was busy. Good man. I really loved our trip, even though it was my first trip down south, everyone in our group, who are all world travellers, except for my 2 girls and I, all thought it was pretty much perfect especially for families. My sister in law would have enjoy more evening events with a social flair. All our best to DANNY with CATEC horses, HECTOR with the taxi, and CHU CHU for our awesome boat ride and adventure. Oh I have to mention the evening lobby entertainment... the living statues, the sax player and guitars set the right vibe for the evening. The phones were down for a time on Christmas day and some of the time the internet didn't work. This is Cuba, not Canada, and you are vacation, so deal with it. As for insects, the resort fogged every morning and evening, and we had no bites except from sand fleas at Pilar. Also no bed bugs for us. We will be back. Tip the staff as they worked very hard for us. Thanks Iberostar
