“Will be great once finished”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Although, like many others, we were told by Virgin Holidays that this resort (under new ownership) was finished before we travelled, it obviously was not. However, what we found there was really quite nice and we had a great week here. It is a small resort that only has 90 or so rooms and the staff were lovely and very helpful. The 3rd floor Courtyard rooms were a decent size and had good balconies. The food was pretty good with plenty of choice in both the restaurants that were open ( a third is planned soon ). The beach area was being cleared and looking nice, almost private, lots of sun beds and bar service to your bed.
Good location with a few restaurants and bars within walking distance and only 20 mins from airport. Would definitely go back to Savannah Beach with the added bonus of everything being finished!

Room Tip: some of the plantation house rooms ( when finished ) may be a little close to the main road

“Wonderful, charming hotel with amazing staff & food”

Well....where do I begin?!!
After reading the reviews on here we were a little apprehensive but in for a penny in for a pound we thought.
A wonderful hotel with staff that can't do enough for you, with the exception of the few that seemed to complain for the sake of complaining.. Ie one woman screaming her head off for 20 minutes, much to the amusement of the rest of us I hasten to add, that it had taken more than 10 minutes for new batteries to arrive for the remote control for her tv!!!
I'm sure she will complain that the sea is too wet next time!!
The hotel is opposite the Garrison race track which is fantastic viewing on a Saturday afternoon.
Yes..the beach is a little rocky in places but as the days tick on by, they are slowly clearing the rocks from the sea but none the less a 30 second stroll around the corner to the right leads you on to a wonderful sandy 3/4 km long almost deserted beach on the way to the Hilton.
The hotel itself is set about 50 steps down and not the most disabled friendly of places but does have lifts to compensate.
Food is fantastic, breakfast is a food feast and will suffice for the day but for those that like to eat, lunch is buffet style with too many choices for some.
Dinner is either in the al a carte restaurant and offers some great choices of food cooked by what I can only describe as a magician!
Other choice is by the beach location which again offers a buffet style with more than enough choices.
Tea and sandwiches are served late afternoon which is a nice addition.
Is only 5 mins to either Bridgetown or the Gap.
Taxi into Bridgetown is only 20 bejan dollars, appox £6.50.
There is a free shuttle service which will take you to another beach if desired in the morning and also a free service to the Gap every night, latest pick up the Gap is 11.15pm for the lightweights that want to leave early.
To sum it all up, we have stayed at many hotels in Barbados and I have to say this is up there with the best at a more than reasonable price.
Only complaint is from the few which have higher expectations, why I have no idea, that expect everyone to cater to their whimpering needs?
All in all...excellent hotel & glad we made the choice of staying here and well done Jeffrey and all the staff.

“Amazing holidays”

I stayed in the hotel at the beginning of January/2012. Everything was fine!!!
Good food, big rooms, beach location, friendly staff. I think that some people are never satisfied. The weather was great, though in the whole week there were couple of very short warm showers. I came across some tourists from the hotel who managed to complain about the weather!!! It is habitual complaining.....! There is no cure from that. The hotel is great, still some people will find the faults. This world is not perfect, we are not in heaven yet. Come on guy just enjoy. I have came across 'bad' and 'very bad' hotels in the past. But this one is good, or very good. I wonder why some people go on holidays at all.. . to complain? People stop complaining and just enjoy life!!!!!!

“Forget the rest - this is (for the money) the best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Ill be honest. I read a few reviews on ta before coming out. Not good and i kinda wondered if I'd booked the right place. Got here and initially felt that the reviews were correct. After a few days into the holiday and chilling out I felt totally different. The staff are superb. The location is A1. The hotel runs a bus to a beautiful beach (coppacabanna) where you can drink as much as you like as part of your AI rate. Ok. The rooms and hotel generally are a bit tired. But where in the island isn't? West coast excepted. The pool is a bit crap also and if you have kids I'd say it's not the best. Summing up I'd say it's value for money in Barbados. Would I come back......? Yes I probably would

“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We stayed at the Savannah Beach for 10 nights and had a great stay, the al a carte meals were a far better quality than we expected, service was a little slow at times but we came to the conclusion this was the bajan way. The buffet meals including breakfast were of a high quality and these i cannot fault. Do not expect to have the choice of 50 dishes mass produced for 2000 people if you want this then a cheap package hotel in Turkey is for you.

All staff were polite helpful and any request was carried out with a smile and as soon as you said thankyou the response was always "your welcome "

A special thankyou goes to Nicholas and Tricia on the managment side for their attention to detail and eagerness to make sure you have perfect holiday. A special mention also to Lynette the bar lady, Wilma the waitress and Norris the beach towel man.
We had a fabulous holiday and are already looking to stay at the Savannah Beach again next year.
Highly recommended frrom Daryl and Katina
