“so good we rebooked for 2012 on the 2nd day”

We booked the cottage for 4 adults first time we have booked self catering in Barbados and boy were we impressed. We think Sandie should be nominated for best customer service nothing we asked for was a problem she is top class full of information and very very helpful. Don't worry about the towel or bedding service Sandie will change your towels daily if you require it without any fuss. If like me you over pack (i won't next year) there is a good laundry and Sandie will open it for you when you need to use it so next year i will travel light. The cottage is beautiful we were so impressed the photos on the site don't do it justice and we loved the photos. The cottage has a large lounge large kitchen with dining table and chairs 2 large air con bedrooms the beds are amazing 6 ft wide so big and comfy a great sleep was had by all. Good sized bathroom plenty of storage space and best of all we had a patio with comforable furniture and another table and chairs for dining al fresco. we had access to the garden the only downside no sun loungers we did mention to Sandie so here's hoping next year we have some. Please don't be put off with the comments about the alley its not an alley its a well lit up street and we all felt very safe . We recommend Bar Kan-ei for the beach its just past Chefette on the right hand side its quiet as Accra beach can get busy and over crowded. Bar Kan-ei charge £10bds for a lounger and £10bds for an umbrella but the good thing is they give you the money back to spend in the bar on drinks or food its fantastic . bar staff very friendly shower toilets clean and best of all its a nice beach. There are lots of things to do in Barbados Harbour master dinner cruise on the thursday night not to be missed great food great entertainment fantastic. restaurants there are plenty here's some of the ones we like shakers, mamma mia bests of all Tapas ocean view and the best food .
Well could go on for ever we love BARBADOS we just wish we had found the Rosebank Apts sooner and cant wait for 2012 . Great big thank you to Sandie x

“Fantastic location”

First time to Barbados and travelling on my own. Rosebank is down a private road which, although I didnt walk down very late at night, I would still say is pretty safe. Not exactly an alley as some people have described. Gated entrance, very secure.
Location couldnt be better, two minutes to Boardwalk where you can get to Accra Beach in about 10 minutes at a leisurely stroll. Beach guys always look out for their regular customers and look after them to get a good spot. Two shopping malls within spitting distance of Rosebank, both with plenty of places to eat. If you want to self cater that isnt a problem either, cooking facilities minimal in Rosebank but all you need. Fantastic to have air con and a fan and also windows that open wide to let the breeze come in. Sandie is very helpful and will recommend/book any trips you need. Do the island trip with Ted - he is hilarious and it's a good day out as is the Cool Runnings catamaran trip. Oistins worth a visit too. In terms of beaches I found Accra beach just as nice as anywhere else, white beautiful sand, clean sea, so why spend your time going anywhere else when this is on your doorstep. If you're looking for 5 star accommodation then obviously this is not going to be your cup of tea but why go to a beautiful place like Barbados and stay in a hotel complex all the time. Sandie is available to give you tips/advice/help but she is not in your face and let's you get on with your holiday.

“Quiet and peaceful retreat.”

Rosebanks is ideally situated to every convenience, and a leisurely walk to the beach. A trip to Oistins shoud be on the to do list. Public transportation is readily available and inexpensive, there is no need to rent a car. Sandie was wonderful. The bedrooms were air conditioned and sleep was blissful, however at times the living room and kitchen felt a tad bit hot and sticky( a few more fans would be a quick fix). Would stay there again.

“Like living in my own beautiful apartment”

This was my third trip to Barbados in a year. I always stay at self catering suites and this is the 4th I've stayed at and I have also been in 2 others that a friend had stayed at. I have to say this is the best! I booked a studio but got a 1bdrm when I arrived. The owner said another person was also interested in a studio but I was staying longer so I got the upgrade. I never even met the owner. There was internet in the room and I had a laptop so I emailed her whenever I had a question. She arranged a taxi to pick me up and drop me off at the airport and give me the key. The room was clean and bright. My room was white walls with blue furniture/accents and a simply gorgeous hard wood floor! I saw that each room had different color schemes (orange, green, etc.) There was air conditioning in the bedroom. There was also a phone and wardrobe in the bedroom. There was a huge bathroom with a large glass shower. I found the kitchen/living room very comfortable. I never cooked but it was all I needed for preparing cold foods. There were nice windows for breeze but there was no view of anything though.

Safety: I never ventured out at night on this trip so I did not have to go down the alley in the dark and I can't comment on how well it was lit. A solo woman traveller could feel a little uncomfortable I think. The yard is gated. There is a locked door to get into the building and then there is a staircase to access all the rooms. That felt safe.

Location to beaches and groceries: it is a block from the beach up a little alley. At night the alley was a little dark but there were rarely people in the alley except for Rosebank guests. There was a gas station at the end of the alley on the main road where you could get snacks, drinks and catch the bus. The beach and boardwalk were on the other side of the street. If you walk a couple blocks south there is a major intersection and one block (around the corner) east/inland is a major grocery store. Very convienent! I often walked there and took a taxi back. If you continued along the beach (or boardwalk) Accra Beach is only another block or so. This is by road but if you took the boardwalk from the Rosebank alley it goes straight to Accra where it ends. There are a lot of nice restaurants along the boardwalk. If you take the street, there are several little shops to browse in.

Accra beach is close and there is shopping and food around there. Food ranges from fast food (KFC, Cheffette, beach kiosks) to nice restuarants. I loved Just Grillin which was across the street from the beach it was affordable fast food that was more on the healthy side. Their grilled veggies are yum!!

A couple blocks south from Accra is the Gap (nightlife and restaurants). My favourite beach is actually tucked away just before the Gap. I walked there every day. I'm not a fast walker but I didn't mind the walk at all. The little white buses (vans) are cheap and pass every 15 mins or more and a great way to get around.

I have stayed by Dover beach before and even further south past Oistins (Enterprise). I find those areas to be a little sketchy (especially at night) and wouldn't feel too safe walking there at night as a solo female traveller. Rosebank Apartments is a little more North and felt safer.

I would stay here again in a heartbeat! It was like I had my very own apartment in Barbados. I really loved the hardwood floors :)

“Comfortable room, accommodating staff, and great value”

We stayed for a week at Rosebank. Thanks to close proximity to boardwalk and local shops/restaurants, no need to rent a car. We did only for a day to enjoy some other areas of Barbados. Richard attended to every need and was an incredibly reliable driver to our various appointments. Sandy was lovely and accommodating, answering all our questions in the booking process and making sure we had all we needed. Truly a little oasis down a side lane, but close to the main street and beach. Very relaxing and lovely spot -- we would love to come back!
