“Gem of a place in great location!”

We stayed end Jan 2012 firstly in superior one bed apt, then in a standard one bed (superior not available for whole stay). What can we say that has not already been said? This accommodation and the setting suited us to a tee! Clean, spacious and well equipped for self catering. Sandie so welcoming and couldnt be more helpful. Booked trips (Cool Runnings catamaran is a must!), found us a hire car, exchanged clean towels every time we asked. Problem with one of the shower taps - fixed that day! Location great: within 100 yds of beach and Boardwalk, yet set back far enough from road to be insulated from traffic noise. Good shopping mall (Lanterns) next door with convenience store/pharmacist, food outlets, bank etc. Tapas restaurant at end of road, Champers, Naru and numerous other eateries of all types and budgets within easy walking distance. Frequent buses also on main road.

The property was originally a sugar plantation house and is quite traditional style with lovely polished wooden floors. Super-comfy enormous beds! It has a large lovely garden out front. Free wifi a boon (playing up a bit during our stay but Sandie on to it!) For the record the road leading up to the property is well illuminated at night (a concern raised by a previous reviewer) and we felt entirely safe.

We think you would be hard-pressed to find such great accomodation in such a good location at this price elsewhere on the island. If you are looking for 5-star finery then look elsewhere, but if you require good clean no-frills comfortable accomodation with excellent customer service then we would challenge anyone to do better! This place is a gem!

“Extraordinary Kindness”

This was my second visit to Rosebank. When we called at the last minute the accomodation I requested was booked. However, Sandie offered an alternative which we were delighted to have...the cottage, which was actually the original stable to the plantation. As we are opening our own guesthouse (which we expected to move into during our stay), Rosebank was convenient. As things dragged on, waiting for shipments to come in, dealing with workmen who failed to do what had been promised, unexpected challenges, etc. etc., we found our stay was extended. We actually had planned to stay two weeks and ended up staying five weeks. Throughout all of this Sandie became our guardian angel. She offered encouragement, advice and understanding and at our lowest point, a wonderful gift! (I would let her tell you about it!) My earlier review said that Rosebank was almost like being home. Well, think about home with your best friend, sister or mom being in charge. When our stay became longer than anticipated, she graciously offered another room and on our last day, Chris took us down to our own guesthouse where we FINALLY moved in. I know that Rosebank Apartments are extraordinary. But we received more than an five-star accomodation would or could give to us.
Thank you Sandie and Chris. From Jackquelynn and David.

“Rip Off”

Be careful when you make a booking at Rose Bank apartments, you may just pay for time that you did not spend there. In September I made a booking for 12 days but because of changes to my plans, only stayed for 3 days. I made a deposit upon booking that covered the 3 days, but to my surprise was charged for additional days without my knowledge. When I questioned the charge to my credit card that I did not authorized ( slip was not signed, which amounts to fraud)and requested a refund, I was told that Rose Banks Apartments had a "no refund" policy. Strangely at the time of booking,I was not told about this policy and additionally, there is no mention of a 'no refund" policy on its website or any written policy available at the property. Up to today, Rose Banks and Sandie cannot provide me with a written "no refund" policy.

BE WARNED!

As much as I am a big fan of Trip Advisor and usually find visitor reviews very informative and helpful to us in improving our customer experience, there are times when i believe when some reviews should be investigated before they are posted as occasionally there are posts that do not reflect the whole truth. This guest had originally booked for 12 nights but changed her reservation to 9 nights before her arrival...no problem. As is standard with most small apartment complexes (and is stated on the in room information package) the balance of payment is due on arrival. The guest was shown to her room and was asked if she was paying cash or credit card for the balance on her 9 night stay. She said she was paying by credit card, and she was asked to come by the office to sign the slip at her convenience....apparently it was never convenient, and truthfully my staff slipped up as they should have followed up and insisted that she did. She then told my staff that she would be checking out and going to stay with a friend after 3 nights. Once checked in and paid up, we do have a no refund policy (as is normal again with small apartment complexes like ours). When she was told this, her story changed and she told me that she was a patient at a nearby clinic (with whom we do a lot of business) and that they had rescheduled her treatment so that is why she was leaving. I am not sure which story is the truth (they can't both be) however as is our arrangement with the same clinic when this occurs, it is standard for the clinic to write us a letter asking us to refund the guest in full which we do immediately. I explained this to the guest and told her that as soon as I receive the letter she will be refunded in full (more than 6 weeks later I have received no letter though the offer to refund still stands)...this leaves me to believe that this may not have been the true story. It is such a shame that a review like this which does not give the whole story can blemish the otherwise excellent reputation that we have at Rosebank and I urge potential guests not to stop at this review but read all of the others which give a true idea of visitors stays with us. I am confident that our great reputation for customer satisfaction and service will withstand this guests unfair review.

“Almost a home away from a home”

If you are looking for a 5 star hotel - this is not it. But very comfortable, clean, convenient, and walking distance to several restaurants, plazas and shopping. Did I mention reasonably priced - for Barbados very much so. My wife and I spent a week in the one bedroom apartment and had no complaints. Owners have done an excellent job in providing a cost-effective self catering establishment.

Room Tip: Preferred the ground floor.

“Great Value, great rooms, great location... PERFECT self catering in Barbados”

We visited Barbados in may and after a little research and reading some reviews on tripadvisor I decided to contact Sandie who was really helpful with the reservation and patiently (and very promptly) answered all my questions.
She arranged airport pick-up for us and since there was a larger room available at the time of our stay we were upgraded free of charge.
The rooms are well equiped with everything you would need during your vacation. The bed was super comfy and it was HUGE.

The next shopping mall is right next to the premises, where there is a mini-mart for groceries and other necessities and the beach is just down the road.
There are several restaurants in different price ranges and bars within a short walking distance.
You can also walk into Bridgetown, something that we did a couple of times, but it is a longer walk so thankfully there is a bus stop a short walk away, which is very convinient. You can get to either Oistins or Bridgetown without a hassle and for only a small fee.
We were debating on wether we should rent a car but opted against it, and used public transportation instead. That was a good move, because we got to know really nice people and to see real Bajan life.
The bus to the airport also stops at the same spot, which was very convenient and it only took us about 25 minutes to get to the airport from Rosebank.

The premises are lovely, with mango trees and well kept flowers. We were gently awaken by a choir of birds every morning, and tiny frogs that sat in front of our little porch sang us to sleep.
And the best of all, a large family of green monkeys played in the trees and watched us watch them, every morning during breakfast.

We also called the office asking about a catamaran tour and they got us a great deal, so before you book anything beforehand, call the office and they will sort it for you.

All in all, this was a great vacation and a great place to stay and I highly recommend the Rosebank Apartments, Sandie and her staff.
