Myself, my wife, and our one & two year olds enjoyed the trip and the stay. I will readily admit that it was a bit of a "Bates Motel" moment as we were driving up to the Hotel, but once inside it wasn't so terrible at all. If you are an American here in Germany, than you should already know that the German facilities do not carry all the luxuries that US hotels/motels do, such as soap, shampoo, towels, washcloths, etc... IT IS A DIFFERENT COUNTRY PEOPLE. Anyways, we came fully prepared for all that and spent more time at the Tropical Islands than we did the hotel, and pretty much only seen the hotel once it was time for bed, so no issues as far as food goes! We slept, got up, went to Tropical Islands, came back, slept, then did it all over again the next two days/nights and enjoyed the whole thing. the one time we did ask to have a meal at night time, the kitchen had already closed and the chef went home, but the hostess offered to come out and cook us up something regardless, and it was just a fabulous experience and gave us a feeling like we were the most important people staying there! It was great and thier service was excellent! Again, we simply were looking for a safe and comfortable place to sleep each night we were there... not a place to hang out and eat, entertain the kiddies, watch TV, or any of that other stuff. We simply looked for a place to sleep...and this served it's purpose extremely well! The staff was very friendly and courteous and accomodating.
