The resort is in a good location being approx halfway between the airport and Rhodes town (approx 5-6k distance). The bus stop to Rhodes is about a 12-15 minute walk into the main cross roads of Illyassos. Beach is a mix of pebble and sandy grit with great views across to Turkey. Quite windy so great for surfers etc but the breeze is welcome as the heat in middle September was still 28-30C during the day.
The resort is very clean with 4 different swimming pools (Karchered about 3-4 times each week) with the main pool having a central island with bridges across, leading to the pool bar and fountains in the pool. Plenty of sunbeds both around the pools and on the beach which is immediately in front of the resort. Beach towels are supplied as often as you require them.
An "animation" team is in situe every day except Wednesday leading all sorts of activities during the day and approx an hours show in the open air theatre each evening. It is an all inclusive resort which does mean all inclusive (no charge for air con, room safe, sunbeds etc.) with plenty of selection in both food (buffet style) and drink (bar service). All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
The rooms are a very good size (approx 3.5 X 6 metres) plenty of storage space and all have a balcony.
For some strange reason there were not many Brits there; mainly French, Dutch, German, Nordic and even a few Russians so be prepared to indulge your school days foreign language memories. Airplanes coming over are quite frequent but not to the point of being bothersome (more something to look at!). There was a complete age range of the guests although very few 5-16 year olds as term time was already underway when we were there.
I would recommend this resort without any hesitation to anyone who wants a sunshine holiday with everything on tap, yet in a good location with good taxi and bus services.
