I don't normally write a bad review, but...This hotel is not what it seems in the guidebook. Restaurant was not good at all. The bar wasn't open (Thurs night), dont' know why. The casino is very dirty. Rooms very under average for Best Western hotels. Would not recommend a "lake view" for extra 20 a night either. Free internet and parking though! Not worth it. Try somewhere else.

After reading all hotel reviews for the Gruissan area, we settled on this for a one night stopover as it sounded like value for money. Either you carry your cases to the second floor and get the view, or you settle for the ground floor (as we did) and get a funnel view between hedges of a small bit of a green lake (etang). A generally poky and claustrophobic impression all round, although the staff were cheerful. Don't worry if you miss breakfast, it's no loss at all, and if you have dinner in the Casino restaurant alongside, do count your change carefully.

This Best Western Hotel is 12km out of Narbonne and as we had a car this was no problem. Lovely seaside town.
Parking outside rooms.
Casino next door. Breakfast not included. Our room had table and chairs outside which we used for our picnic dinner. Free wifi a bonus here - used in room. Coach tours use this Hotel.
Bed and bathroom excellent. Staff at front desk helpful.

We stayed for 5 nights and were given interconnecting rooms without having to ask. The rooms are 2 storey chalet style and small and a bit off putting from outside but they were very clean, air conditioned and the bathroom was recently refurbished. Ground floor rooms with a small patio area gave the idea of more space and we were sorry not to have asked for these but we booked late. Some rooms may have had lake views which would have been nice. Our views were of nearby buildings with a pool glimpse.

The service in this hotel was super. Reception was exceptional and their English excellent. When we asked the maids for extra towels in the room these were provided each day without asking.

The restaurant was excellent for lunch or dinner with lots of French people eating there. Service again was professional and very friendly. The separate breakfast restaurant was not as good but had a beautiful lake view.

A lovely stay but I wish the rooms were a bit bigger!
