“Absolutely fabulous”

This is my sort of place. It's in the countryside (pop of village only 79!) but accessible for Paris, Orleans, Charles de Gaulle airport, Disney and a whole host of other attractions within 30min-1 hour away. It is luxurious - breakfast was delicious, Frette sheets, 30 degree swimming pool, jaccuzi, spa bath in rooms (all of them), and impeccable grounds. The whole place oozes good taste. Just loved it and will return asap. I suppose the only down side is the lack of a restaurant, but as long as you are aware that you either need to bring your own food (in-room facilities are brilliant) - or order food from here in advance, it isn't a problem. I certainly prefer it that way anyway.

Room Tip: All fantastic!

“Almost too good to share....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

We stumbled upon this place on bookings.com when looking for a stopover on the way back to the Eurotunnel and I'm glad we did. It was initially more money than we wanted to pay for a stop-off but it was worth every penny. As soon as you arrive, there is an air of peace and tranquility and you can't help but relax.
The receptionist was lovely and she spoke much better English than we did French! Our room was spotlessly clean, it was evident that the whole grounds and apartments had been renovated to a very high standard. There were little luxuries such as robes, slippers, pillow mist, an excellent coffee machine etc which all added to this opinion. The only negative i can think of is that as there were self catering facilities we had taken our own food but as there was nowhere to store it in the kitchen area, i ended up putting it in the wardrobe!
There is a small pool and jacuzzi which was great for the kids and as the place is quite small you could almost guarantee having it to yourself too. In the evenings we sat in the courtyard with the other residents of all nationalities, however the place was still quiet and peaceful by around 10pm.
There is no restaurant but breakfast and evening meals in your room could be arranged if required.
Although this place is remote, there are plenty of very picturesque 'very French' villages such as Septmonts which is beautiful to amble around as well as the larger areas such as Reims, Soissons etc. The Chemin Des Dames and war memorials in this area are also interesting to visit.
It took around three hours on a quiet Sunday morning to drive to Calais and it was a very straightforward route. All in all I would wholeheartedly recommend this place (I would try and leave the kids behind next time!), it really is a well kept secret, one which is almost too good to share.....

“Charming chateau”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2011 via mobile

Had a wonderful one night stay following a trip with the children to Disneyland.

The hotel is set in the grounds of a stunning chateau though the tower unfortunately doss not contain rooms. We stayed in a suite which was the perfect size for two adults and two children with two rooms, double bedroom and kitchen/sitting room (the children shared a double sofa bed).

The rooms were beautifully decorated with antique style furniture, tv, kitchennette (including dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave and fridgefreezer).

The swimming pool and jaqcuzzi were a real treat and we were lucky to have these to ourselves on two occasions.

Breakfast was very good although quite pricey and the English breakfast isn't worth bothering with. We took advantage of the facilities so did not try the hotels in-room service for dinner.

On the whole, highly recommended especially as a retreat post Disneyland. Only slight niggles were the sound proofing in the apartment (good between apartments, not so good in the apartment), breakfast was pricey and possibly the lack of an on-site restaurant (though this was no problem for us). It was well catered for children, however was also not overrun by them.

“A slice of luxury hidden away in northern France”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2010

We stayed here at the end of a two week driving holiday of Germany and France with two kids, 10 and 13. We chose a studio apartment with a double and a fold out sofa bed. Not the biggest room but fine for our needs. As we stayed on a Sunday and a Monday night, it was very quiet. After a long drive in terrible weather from Southern Germany, we arrived a bit stressed but after 20 minutes of arrival and checking the facilities out we chilled out. We used the dinner served in your room facility and it was excellent. The swimming pool and hot tub were great, especially as we were the only ones there! The hotel is right out in the country, so although beautiful it is slightly remote and you definately need a vehicle.
We went to nearby Longpont and had dinner at the Hotel l`abbye, recommended by the manageress at Droizy,Eleanor. Fantastic meal in a proper french country restaurant. My wife and I are going back for a luxury weekend (no kids) and will make much more use of the fact that Reims,Epernay and some brilliant local champagne caves are nearby!

“Stunning, peaceful, romantic hidden gem!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 May 2010

Absolutely stunning!! This place is picture perfect, set in the tiny little historic village of Droizy. We had a 1 bedroom studio apartment which came with a kitchen, lounge, jacuzzi bath. It had everything we needed! There is also a heated indoor pool and spa on the grounds. Very cute place and would definitely go back if I want to get away from it all!
