“LOVED KOS ♥”

We had an amazing stay at Hotel St Constantine!!! We booked through Thomas Cook.
We arrived from the aiport at 7am...and only waited for about 10 minutes to check in. We needed to wait for the lady who works behind the desk as her car had broken down. Not a big deal. When we eventually got to our room, we fell asleep straight away. The air conditioning was absolutely freezing. But it was fantastic as it was very hot out.
The night porter...Big Papa ensured us that all of the previous negative comments about noisy hotel visitors were not longer valid. We NEVER heard noisy visitors at all.
The room was big, spacious and had a lovely balcony which was crucial for drying towels and bathingsuits. Cleaned daily except Sunday. We never used the safe as it was behind the reception desk...I think priced at 15 euros a week. We lucked out as well because the day we were leaving, the hotel was starting to charge for air conditioning, as it was almost September.
The location was PERFECT. We loved the walk into the main harbour area. VERY safe to walk...but we were latest out at 12:30. The grocery stores are open very late as well...we recommend you buy the 1L bottles of water for 1.80 euros for 6 bottles, and keep them cold in the room fridge. On the way back to the hotel after dinner, we'd stop of at XL Bar with 3euro cocktails! Great music and fantastic people watching!
The breakfast seletction was amazing. We looked forward to it every morning. Coffee, tea, juice, breads and toaster, croissants, eggs cooked different each day but always hardboiled as well, breakfast meats, yogurts, fresh cheese, fruits, biscuits, cereal, museli, etc. The hotel was worth it just for the breakfast!!
Our most favourite thing abotu the hotel was on our last night, Big Papa saw my boyfriend and I waiting around, as we were getting picked up at 3am...so he gave us a room and a room call to wake us up for the bus!
FANTASTIC FOR THE PRICE!!!
We absolutely love Greece and would recommend and return ourselves!!

“Never again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

I can recommend only the Kos Town resort as a lovely place to stay for holidays: beaches, harbour, trip to Turkey, friendly people and good food.
I stayed with my partner for 1 week (July2010) in St. Constantine hotel. It was nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The worst hotel I ever stay in.This hotel is 3* but for me is more like student house. 95%guest - 18-20yold grups. Party every night untill 5am, drunk people shouting, screaming, throwing the bottle etc. Staff not friendly, don't care about other guest. It is realy difficult to sleep!!! Walls are thin you can hear alarm clock from another room. I don't understand why ST Constantine is recommend as a good for a couple.

“Great Hotel shame about the bar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2010

The hotel had a good location short walk to the harbour, close to old town, shops, bars and restaurants particularly liked Emilia pizzeria just a couple of blocks down the road. Taurus bar was awesome. Lovely room overlooking the pool which has a very sunny balcony most of the day - bit noisy at night but hey who needs to sleep when your on holiday.
Excellent reception staff who could not do enough to help my sincere thanks to them.
However the barman spoilt this hotel for us he was obnoxious, self obsessed and was only interested in groups of 20 yr old boys/girls so he could call his friends to come over and have a good night with them. If you were any older or a couple he was not really interested - shame as we like to pop into the hotel bar before and after our night out for a couple of drinks and so we did not bother doing this after the first couple of nights. Apart from this I would have rated the hotel very highly indeed.

“Central location, clean but avoid July and August”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

We stayed at the Saint Constantine from 12th - 26th August 2010 and have to say we have mixed feelings about the hotel.

Having read the reviews from guests who stayed during July and August 2010, we tried to change the accommodation before travelling but Thomas Cook were adamant we had to go and see for ourselves. We went with an open mind but the reports we read were correct.

It is true that there are few British guests at the hotel; indeed the flags outside the reception indicate that the majority of travellers are welcomed from Holland, Sweden, Norway etc. but this in itself is not really an issue. The main gripe is noise - both from the hotel bar which is very loud and goes on until 1a.m. and the noise from other guests coming back to their rooms in the early hours of the morning.

The room we were initially allocated (229) is on the front of the hotel and the bass was thumping making it difficult to sleep. We spoke to the Thomas Cook rep who arranged a move to room 501 right at the top of the hotel where the music was barely audible. However, most nights there was shouting, banging, scraping of furniture being moved etc. between 1a.m. and 5a.m. No point complaining because we had no idea who was making the noise - young people with no respect when they are coming in late (or early).

The rooms were cleaned daily (except Sunday), breakfast was better than average with a small selection of cereals, bread, continental and bacon / egg offerings which were acceptable. The pool is quite small but was adequate as those people that were up all night made for a quiet day time around the pool.

Most of the other few British couples had also complained about noise and had been moved rooms to the side or rear of the hotel and the rep explained that she had had many complaints in July and August. We also understand that the Thomas Cook brochure will market this hotel in future as a 'Young and Lively' hotel rather than relaxing for couples and families which it certainly was not.

Overall - it is somewhere between average and good let down in peak season by noise. We would not recommend or return for that reason only.

“Amazing spacious Rooms, with Great Aircon, staff to match”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2010

The location of this hotel is great, five mins to beach, harbour, old town etc. The rooms i had was Room 230 and was very spacious with amazing Air conditioning, free in July and August. We had no noise issues, i can only recommend, do not ask for a pool view room, because you will get groups making noise. The only minus with the rooms is you only get two electric rings, sink, fridge, so not really self catering. The staff we cam across was very friendly and helpful, so was our Thomas Cook rep Louise, who pointed us in the direction of Angels motor bikes who gave us a excellent rate of £12 euro a day.

The pool is small but looked nice, we never used it as we went on our travels. Restaurants at night we only went to a few because in the majority of nice looking Restaurants, you get about five cats jumping around you, thats not enjoyable for me while i am eating. I can recommend Mamma Rosa just opposit the hotel a lovely little italion with Friendly staff, There is one mexican nearer the beech which is nice.
Travelling about Brava Beach is about ten mins by transport and is a fantastic shallow beach with sand, space between sunbeds. Tagilki is a nice resort more british, Kardemena is like blackpool without the rides. La cafe cocktail bar in Kos town is lovely £3 euro a cocktail or long drink. The harbour and bar street tends to be a little pricey. Blue brothers bar near the Harbour is good for football etc . Kos weather is Red hot and it has good roads to travel on, My grunmble with Thomas Cook is the flights are to small and not comfy, we have used ryan air before.
