We stayed at the Bahamas in Sept 2011, from the ratings on trip advisor we were expecting so much more than what we experiencd. Costas , Billy & the family are really nice people who do their very best to make you welcome but that is it. This hotel is tired and dated and seems like a step back to the 1980's. This hotel does not deserve it's high trip advisor ratings

Room Tip: Pool views are the best rooms

“Another cracking holiday at the Hotel Bahamas!!”

After our last holiday at the Hotel Bahamas, we couldn't wait to get back there. This holiday was intended as a relaxing, winding-down period after a year of concentrating on work and it started as soon as we arrived! It was like revisiting family with a speedy, relaxed booking-in from Costas which got us settled in and ready to relax on the terrace bar within 10 minutes of arriving! If you're looking for 5-star luxury, room service and 'haut cuisine' then you'd better look somewhere else! If you want spotlessly clean rooms that are basic but serviced daily with a relaxing pool area, large pool and pool bar that serves hot & cold food, soft & alcoholic drinks all day situated within easy walking distance of everything Kos Town has to offer whilst being unaffected by the noise from town then this is the place for you!! Our experience was improved still further by the introduction to other returning guests - Angie & Tony ("Mine's a cheeky vimto!"), Bev & Phil ("Awright, saaarn?!") and Dave & Pat (the silent assassin! - I'll never trust a smiling pensioner again!!) Our first priority when we got home was to book again for next year!! See you all there! :-)

Room Tip: Rooms at the front above the terrace bar can be noisier but didn't detract from what was a fanta...

“average in all respects”

A very average 2* greek hotel that is clean (but not spotless) and ran by friendly owners (but sometimes inefficient) The breakfast is average and the location is poor. The rooms and the public areas, although clean, are tired. The pool is the biggest plus of this hotel and the pool bar snacks are good.

“Just the BEST”

Just the best hotel we've stayed in for a long time, nothing was to much trouble. Costas & Billy are brilliant, one of them are there all the time. The rooms were kept very clean & tidy and it was nice to have the fridge for cool drinks. The hotel was situated a short walk from lots of restaurants so there was always a good choice were to eat. If you didn't want a free continental breakfast you could buy a full English. Fabulous holiday all round and we defiantly wont forget our 30th wedding anniversary that we celebrated out there. Thank you to all the staff at the Bahamas. Dave & Julie.

Room Tip: Ask for pool view its just pleasant.

“Average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

The Bahamas Hotel is a small bed and breakfast hotel on the outskirts of Kos town.
Rooms are very basic and look a little tired, but they are spotlessly clean with a small bathroom the shower is powerful with plenty of hot water.

Breakfast consisted of tea, coffee, orange cordial, toast, ham, cheese, water melon and stale cornflakes. It was the same everyday with no variation, quite a letdown.

Lovely pool and sunbathing area. The pool snack bar was closed and there wasn’t any music as it was the last week of the season. One euro is charged for a sun bed cover per person, per day.

In general, if you go the last two weeks of the season. The weather can be very mixed too cold to swim in the pool and cold about 4-5pm. You had to go out in the evening with a coat or cardigan on. Many of the restaurant and bars were closed. If you got a last minute cheap deal and are willing to put up with the run down feel of the hotel and resort you may want to take a chance, but if you wear paying full price you may feel you were not getting value for money.
From a personal point of view I wouldn’t go so late in the season again.
