“Lovely place to stay”

Hi

I thought this hotel was great. We spent two weeks in Donegal in July.
and this was the best hotel we stayed.

It has a friendly cosy little pub downstair, which also serves great food.

Rooms are great, really nice beds (looks to be made of heavy oak) and the bathrooms are spotless.

Would definitely come here again if staying in Donegal

Cheers

“Phenomenal! Bear Mor Delivers Ireland with a Twist”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2005

I spent a week at An Bear Mor in June, 2005. Quite simply this was the best choice I have made in 18 years of visiting Ireland! The location is quiet and spectacular - there are nearby to walks on Ballyness Bay and up the stunning peak named Arigal (filmed in the movie Braveheart). But the real charm is in the ownership and attention to detail...traditional music played in a warm pub decorated with hand crafted teak furniture designed by the owner and custom built in Zimbabwe. The bar is made from smoothened sleepers from the old Cape Town to Cairo railroad. The service is friendly and professional, the interior is immaculate, and the staff pay rigorous attention to details. The owner is an Irish American who has lived and worked in South America and Africa and who goes out of his way to make visitors feel welcome and comfortable (and who has some unique stories to share). The food is excellent. You can tell the caliber of a good Irish establishment by the amount of locals who frequent it for its food, atmosphere, friendliness and good pints. The locals verified my own opinion - that Bear Mor scores top marks on all three. Highly recommended to those seeking traditional Ireland with a unique twist.

“Unique Hotel”

Stayed in the lovely An Bear Mor just last month on a recent trip along the coast of Ireland. It has to be one of the most unique hotels that we came across, a warm and wonderful atmosphere. The staff and owner Aidan were friendly and welcoming, the food was great and we loved its location right by the bay. We watched the evening sun set and the sky turn a dark blue all from the hotel window. It won't be forgotten in a hurry and we will return.

Group of four from Northern Ireland had a great time in a unique and beautiful small family-friendly hotel.
We had visited last September and decided to make a return journey this easter. Better than the first time, traditional music on the friday night, warm welcome, warm rooms great value.
Thanks for a relaxing and entertaining weekend.
