“My experience of Glebe House was not only horrific, but a health hazard and a place to stay well clear of !!!!”
My self and my wife, along with my brother and his wife, booked two double rooms at Glebe House for the 30th of October 2010, when we arrived around 5pm. Marion was not there herself, but had left a note on the door telling me the door was open , to go ahead in , and also the number's of the rooms allocated to us, on entering the hallway it seemed beautiful , we nosed in the reception room and it was very nicely furnished, however when we started to ascend the stairway, there was large area's of the wall covered in mould, the wall paper was peeling down everywhere, when myself and my wife went into our room it was cold and bleak , no central heating, but we found a dimplex heater in the closet.there was also no hot water whatsoever. I then went to my brother's room , he was reluctant to complain as I had made the booking, they had immediately noticed flies, but then we glanced at the wall behind the bed, and there were hundreds of little fly's grouped together on the wall, It was infestation of fly's, they certainly had not flown in through a window.and in both room,s the wallpaper was peeling from dampness. when Marion did arrive, she was indifferent to our complaints. naturally we didn't stay.and even though it was getting late, we managed to find alternative accommodation. there was also no sign of any other staff or other amenities mentioned on the web site. My opinion is, this was at one time a splendid house. but is now in a state of rapid dilapidation, and in urgent need of refurbishment.and should be closed by the authorities until the whole place is fumigated and refurbished. you can contact me at alanpigott@eircom.net........
