Hotel Solvasa in Barcelona claimed itself a four star hotel. When we got inside the room, it smelt stinking. Immediately, my husband and I asked the front desk to exchange to another room. The clerk said it was fully booked that night, and told us to check next morning for the availability of our second night staying. Later we opened the window and turned on the air-conditioner, the smell died down.
On the second day, we did not ask for exchanging rooms. We were in a hurry of getting out to our tour, and also we thought it would be okay if we left our air conditioner on all day long. The smell was bearable when we came back from our tour that evening. However, after we turned off the air-conditioner in the midnight (it was cold to have A/C on), the stinking/sewage smell came back. The smell was worse than the first day. It was impossible at that time to exchange to anther room. We were very angry about it.
Besides the smell of our room, the breakfast of this hotel was terrible, too. The hems and breads were stale. They didn't have cups for coffee and tea.
