The Château de la Buronnière was fantastic! And our hosts (the owners) Willemien and Pieter were attentive, knowledgeable about the area and delightful people. The chateau is beautifully renovated, the rooms are HUGE, each one different from the other and sooo comfortable with tall windows that open to a view of the lawn and woods. This chateau manages to preserve all the centuries-old charm while still providing the most modern conveniences.
Willemien prepared delicious meals at breakfast and dinner, all dishes true to the area.
Our two families (one from Ohio and one from California), 16 of us, adults and teens, were never without something to do. When we weren't off kayaking in the nearby Sartre River or on a day trip to Angers or Normandy or another chatueau, we enjoyed rowing on the pond, walking through the beautiful woods and just relaxing in the shade of the giant trees.
This is truly a storybook place and I highly recommend it to anyone.
