Good hotel for the money. The hotel is located within walking distance of all the casinos. The hotel casino is not the best so you may want to go elsewhere to gamble. The breakfast buffet was ok. Make sure you know what kind of service your getting when you go to the spa.

Double check all your purchases and make sure to ask questions of items your not sure of. Most folks in Macau speak some English or will find someone who does if there is any questions. The person at the airport information desk wrote the Chinese character for the hotel and address for me on a piece of paper to show to the taxi driver which helped a lot.

I just spent one night staying at Rio in October. The room was okay and location alright - all the basic stuff was there, no flash and considering waht I paid, it was ok. But what irks me most was that I had cut my face with my razor and blood was coming out non-stop from my face. I used the toilet hand towel to try to control my bleeding and well, since I didn't want the people to pick up the blood-stained towel, decided to throw away the towel myself. Oh my, they asked me when I checked out where is that towel, and I just told them what happened and my scars on my face basically told the story. Well, sorry, they still charged me $10 for that towel. I find this incosiderate and really not up to a standard just below the 5-star catergory. Next time, I will better stay at those 5-star hotels and avoid these ones even when they cost cheaper.

I stayed in Rio for 2 days. Once in a Double room and then in the suite rooms. The rooms are spacious, clean with all necessary amenities. Linen quality is good, Bathroom is Hygienic. The standard room also had 1 double and one single bed. The suite rooms has a different sitting area. The best part about our stay with Rio was its SPA/ SAUNA. It was excellent though costly but a life time experience. Casino was not appealing and for that there are options available nearby. The location of the Hotel is excellent and all places are easily approachable from here.

The Rio is clean, spacious and efficient. Buffet breakfast and dinner are fine but nothing to write home about. Location is very convenient for sightseeing (more so if you know how to navigate the bus system,) I speak Cantonese so I had no problem with communication. But in the few instances where I used English, I find myself repeating with Cantonese in order to get my point across. I am sure the people who work at the front desk speak good English but you may need to lower your expectations when dealing with other staff.
