“Hard beds, but great coed spa”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

The hotel rooms are rather simple and the furniture is a bit old. The mattresses are quite hard, but some people do like that. The hotel rooms can cost over MOP1,200, so I actually think it's a better deal to rent the resting rooms at the Grand Waldo Spa next door at MOP550 during the week and MOP650 on weekends. The resting rooms are brand new, modern, have their own bathrooms and some even have their own massage tables. Now, these resting rooms are not the actual rooms you go into to get your massages. They merely are in the same building. The coed spa is legit, it's not a sauna and costs MOP250 to enter. Separate changing rooms and separate jacuzzi and steam rooms. Living room area is where both genders can meet and relax. Food is available and is rather inexpensive. An 1.5 hour full body massage plus 1 hour foot rub plus some food may run you about MOP700. Highly recommend getting the 5K prepaid card as you will get 20% off your total bill and you can use it as a group. The casino is rather plain. Probably better to go check out Galaxy Macau directly across the street.

“It could be better without any expectation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

It was a weekend getaway with my husband and Grand Waldo is the only quality hotel we could find online for a 5 Star hotel for a fairly reasonable price.

When we arrive at the Ferry Terminal, it's actually hard to get to the hotel via their shuttle bus that they provide because of the limited availability so the best way to get there is take the Galaxy Hotel Shuttle as Galaxy Hotel is only 5-10 minutes walking distance away.

Our first impression of the hotel is it's surrender by all the mega hotel and it is away from the busy strips of casino in Macau. Check-in were speedy and the so call harbor view room is quite nice but the harbor seems to dried up in the low tide but the room seems newly refurbished which is always a plus.

However the shower don't have much water pressure so it wasn't as relaxing as we hope but the mattress was quite comfortable and we had a good night sleep. We didn't tried their spa but their gym was quite nice with the normal equipment and empty so there is no need to wait for the machines.

The breakfast which included with our package were ok but the variety of food is lacking.

It took a while before we could check-out as there weren't much staff available but the overall experience was really better than expected due to the fact that it's value for the money we paid.

So I would recommend for those who are there for relaxing.

“The best hotel i have stayed in macau”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

I visited macau from 26 to 30 dec 2011 and stayed at the Grand waldo hotel.Check in was fast and the staff could communicate in english and was friendly. We had the complimentry afternoon tea which had a egg tart and pork chop bun with a pot of tea or coffee.Harbour view Room was big and beds were comfortable. The buffet breakfast was very good and had lots of variety.
The hotel is just a stone throw away from the galaxy macau.Hotel Shuttle bus was very efficient and frequent. For the price paid, this hotel is value for money and i would love to stay there again. The hotel even had a limousine to pick us up from the airport which was five minutes away .Although there is no public bus that passes the hotel, we walked to the galaxy where they buses to ferry terminal, border gate, taipa village.

“One of the Many Options in Macau”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

Spent 1 night in Macau and stayed in Grand Waldo Hotel. This hotel is part of the Galaxy Group and is so-called a 5-star hotel. I can only rate it a maximum of 4 stars in view of the scale, the proximity and the outlook of the hotel as well as the service.

The hotel is situated in a location where no public transport can be reached except taxi. Though it provides shuttle bus service, it is not frequent and the routes are not sufficient. The tip for guests is to take the shuttle bus in Galaxy Resort which is a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. The Galaxy Resort provides frequent shuttle bus service to various destinations.

We booked a standard room in the new wing in the spa building and appreciated that we were upgraded to a suite which is big (around 500 sf), with a living room and separate bedroom, without view. The décor is nice although the lighting is bit dark.

If you don’t want to spend too much money on accommodation as hotels in Macau are really expensive, Grand Waldo Hotel can be an option while there are many other hotels for you to choose.

“Not as Grand”

The hotel's got a good location, it's near the international airport and just a few minutes walk from Galaxy and the The Venetian, unfortunately if one gets to Macau after 10 in the evening, one has to get a taxi from the airport to the hotel, and drivers can overcharge due to the short distance. My request for a room with a good view was accommodated with a room upgrade and that was a real plus. The room lighting was a bit dark though and chipping paint varnish from the furnitures are still visible. Anyway, the rest of the room was clean and quite comfortable bed.Bath soap was too tiny to handle and the housekeeping must have not understood that I was asking for another piece, and good that I brought one with me.They were quick though on bringing in extra pillows. The fruit platter as specified was missing but was sent on the second night after I've reminded the front desk clerk. The afternoon tea /buns coupons were also missing. Breakfast buffet was good, there was more than enough choices and of good quality. With the hotel's good location, it has all the potential to expand and improve on the quality of service with a little more warmth and efficiency.
