It's our first vacation trip with our baby (5 months old) and part of our trip is to visit Macau. Coming from HKIA, we took the ferry inside the airport to get to Macau (1hr travel time). No problem at all staying at Metropark.

pros:
> Easy access to food, 7/11 (just in front of the hotel), casinos, bus terminals etc
> They have a wooden baby cart (crib). A bit hard hard so you need to put additional blanket
> Free internet access at the lobby
> You can leave your stuffs after checking out so you can still visit few more places without your luggage
> Concierge speaks good English and quite was very helpful
> Standard amenities like mini bar, safe, etc

cons:
> We had problem locating their free shuttle mini bus as it doesn't have its own parking slot. To locate, after going outside the terminal, you need to locate where the hotel buses park. But you need to walk behind those buses as it's park behind them. I think it arrives every 30mins. It took us some time to locate them and we even crossed the main street only to find out that the buses on the other side are for other hotels (I think the Venetian and City of Dreams)
> The room is old (bed, tv, etc) and small

This hotel was great! The staff helped us finding a restaurant we were looking for and they were very friendly giving us all the info we asked. I booked the room through www.ratestogo.com for less than 50€ and this hotel was just an amazing surprise! The room was big and very clean. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to the pier (punctual and working efficiently) and from there you can also take a bus to many casinos. The hotel doesn't have casino inside so it's very quiet.

Plus - Location was great with walking distance to lots of food and casinos. Was upgraded to 2 deluxe twin connecting rooms. Friendly conceirge who offer help and information about shuttle service. Complimentary shuttle service departs every 30 minutes and leaves on time. Complimentary drinking water provided. Complimentary 15 min internet access. CTS Travel agent has a desk there to provide tours to China etc.

Minus - The hotel website states it is a 4 star hotel but i would only rate it at 3 star. No free shuttle services from Border Gate to Hotel. Small and busy lobby with limited moving spaces, not to mention seatings. Small and Old rooms/ furnishings. Nothing luxurious about this hotel as only basics are met. Booked a breakfast buffet with the room and felt not worth it. Breakfast lack of quality and selection. Atmosphere was almost not much different from a 'Cha Chan Teng' . Conceirge staff wears casual polo tee uniform for a 4 star hotel - perhaps too shabby?

The pricing and quality clearly reflects a 3 star property so do not have high expectations and you shall be fine. Given a choice, I would opt for better 4 star properties nearby such as Holiday Inn, however would not mind staying here if the rates are good.

Booked 5 rooms through asiatravel for 440hkd..this is a weekday price of course..even if you book last minute with macau airport agent its only about 590hkd..which is consider cheap as well..

Requested for early check in but did not granted. So we left luggage there and come back at 3pm. Concierge was very very helpful. Gave us map and explain the way to Senado Sq. and St paul's. Walk to the Grand lisbao takes about 15 minutes while Senado and st paul is about 20-30 minutes. Not that far actually.

Hotel provides shuttle to/from ferry terminal every half an hour. The first time we took it ,we had difficulties to locate the shuttle at the terminal! Anyway, there's a tip if u miss ur shuttle. You could always take nearby hotels/casino shuttle bus, eg holiday inn, so that you could save a lot on cabs. We use the shuttle very often and from the terminal we hop on to other casinos/hotels buses to get to where we wanted to go.

The room of the hotel is spacious and clean. Old furniture and my room view was facing some residential apartment. But that's not a matter for me. I found the bed is Too hard, don't quite like it. Bathroom amenities are plenty, bathrobes, slippers, umbrellas,safe ..all that you need. 2 bottles of water are complimentary. 7-11 is opposite the hotel , you could get everything there.

Just a night in macau was too short..i will definately be back ! A heaven for gamblers!LOL
