“Great location, average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Hotel Sintra is located in the heart of Macau, and walking distance to everything on the peninsula. It is very near the Grand Lisboa, Senado Square, and the Ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral. It is a fairly old building however, and the room size is on the smaller side. For our one night stay it was more than adequate, but was certainly nothing special as far as hotels go. Compared to the rest of the area, I feel you could do much better for your money.

“Good spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Stayed 2 nights over a weekend. Good value as a 3*** but don't expect everything you might expect of a 4****. Very decent size rooms in particular, although decor was a bit dated and tired. Dining was ok, children's menu was fine, and breakfast buffet pretty wide ranging. Only snag for us was that we were unable to get interconnecting rooms on a non-smoking floor despite this being what we had specified on online booking. Location very good for walking round the city and no problems hailing a cab back to the ferry.

“Hotel Sintra Macau... I just LOVE staying there!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

My college bestfriend and I went to Macau from 13-15 January 2012. I've been browsing Agoda's website and stumbled upon this hotel. Based on the reviews, I took the reviewers words for it and booked 3 days stay at Hotel Sintra.

I booked their deluxe room. Well, Hotel Sintra didn't fail us! Considering the room's rate, you get value for your money. It is located strategically at Macau's busy commercial center. It is near the St. Paul's Ruins and other tourist spots in Macau. The ruins is just about 15 minutes away and you could reach there by walking. The Grand Lisboa is very near, about a 5-minute walk.

Check in was fast. Hotel Sintra's deluxe room is equipped with basic amenities. Hot and cold shower, toiletries, LCD tv, hairdryer, bathrobes, telephone, alarm clock, weigh scale, sofa and comfortable beds. Basically, it has all what one needs. I salute the management for maintaining the room spic and span. Everything is already there!

The deluxe room includes buffet breakfast. They have a variety of food choices. We definitely enjoyed dining there.

The staff are polite and knows what customer service is all about. They have a Filipino hotel manager who is very conversant in English & Cantonese. Since we were of the same nationality as with him, we were treated really nice. He will always check on things that we need, giving us pointers on how to go around the city and the most accessible points in going our itinerary. We find comfort in this hotel.

After checkout, we still left our luggages there so can still casino hop and watch the Dragon Show at the City of Dreams. It was raining that Sunday, yet, they took care of us and lent us their hotel umbrellas and guide us to where the shuttle of City of Dreams is.

Next time around, we will definitely be staying here again at Hotel Sintra!

Room Tip: Use other hotels shuttles in going around the city, saves you money for transport expenses. They ar...

“Not bad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

The hotel's location is its best point. The room, while decently sized, is very dated and has a slightly moldy smell. The elevator is small and can hardly fit people +luggages. Not a bad place to stay in and I guess considering its price, it offers good value.

“Nice hotel, let down by poor concierge service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Nice enough mid-range hotel in a very good central location near to Lisboa and Lisboa Grand hotels and walking distance to many attractions in Macau City, its easy also to get a bus or taxi over to Taipa. Hotel has 14 floors, rooms are a little dated but are fine, clean and well-sized. Its not one of the big flashy new Macau hotels but its good enough for a short trip to Macau and is good value for money. Rooms have large bathroom with bathtub/shower, aircon, small frdge, flastscreen TV, desk, very comfortable bed with nice clean bedding. Breakfast buffet was pretty good with a good selection of western/asian hot food as well as fruit, yogurt, bread, cereals etc. My only small complaint there was that the butter and milk was constantly running out and so you had to ask and then wait for them to be replensished. The hotel lobby toilets are worth a look! - very intersting design features. You can get a shuttle bus from Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal to the hotel and there is another shuttle bus that operates from the front of the hotel to the 'City of Dreams' in Taipa. Our room had an interconnecting door to another room, so unless you want to hear your neighbours coughing, sneezing, TV and other activities ask for a room with out an interconnecting door. Now, my only real problem with the hotel were the pretty unhelpful and rude concierges; one was rude and dismissive when we asked a simple question and another, following a language misunderstanding, was very rude - simply not good enough and for that reason I would not go back to this hotel.
