Very good hotel with excellent pools and very professional staff. The room was confortable and clean and location is excellent- 10 mins walk to the beach, 5 mins to shops and supermarket.
We travelled with a 1 year old and she absolutely loved the mini disco every day at 7h30PM.
Only downsides: TV quite old (not plasma screen) and DVD stopped working after 2 days- quite disappointing in a 4 start hotel... Food could be better- we actually enjoy spanish food and fish but the choice was limited.
Despite the above I would definitely return to this hotel!

Puerto Mogan is excellent is you are looking for peace and quiet and a lovely beach for children! Don't think there is much in terms of entertainment at night but we didn't really go out , my daughter was very tired after the mini disco :)

Don't fly First Choice/ Thomson though: the inbound flight was 3 hours late (!) and no apology. The return flight was 30 mins late BUT after landing at Manchester Aiport at 1h30 AM with a really tired baby and no buggy (it was put together with the luggage!) we then had to wait another 1h30 for the luggage!! WHY ? The luggage handlers were having a break and no, there were no options despite being so late and the snow outside... The First Choice staff passed by shortly after landing by with their hand luggage but didn't stop to help...in the end we finally made it home for 4h30 AM!!

I stayed in the hotel Cordial Mogan playa in the beginning of january and it was the best start of the year I could get. It´s a fantastic and big hotel with a beautiful environment and a lot of plants.
good food, especially the breakfast, and wonderful staff. I came to relax and take it easy, but still i joined many of the activities with the animaition team. Special thanks to Elin who made my holidays to something extra!

Our stay here is one of our most relaxing stays in a hotel ever. We spent 8 days with half board and checked out weighing a couple of kilos more than when we arrived. It is a big four star hotel with about 500 rooms and suites, but because of the way it is built it never seemed overcrowded. It consists of several buildings spread out in an enormous garden with more than 200 species of plants. The room we had was spacious enough with two comfortable chairs, a flat screen satellite TV, free WIFI and a balcony with a nice view of the fantastic garden. Everything was working, and the room was very clean. The architecture of the hotel is a creative mix of different styles and very different from most of the other uninspiring Gran Canaria hotels. The service in the reception and elsewhere was effective and friendly, but there seemed to be a shortage of staff in the buffet restaurant and the waiters looked a bit stressed from time to time. A few more waiters would make the meals more relaxing for the guests as well. On the first evening we were showed a table and told that this was our table for the rest of the stay. Nevertheless, we had to change our table three times during our eight days. They definitely need a better system for the seating. The food was great, though. After eight days we still hadn't managed to taste everything! We also tried the Los Guayres a la carte restaurant one evening and had a delicious meal in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Can be recommended. In the garden there were two great pools with artificial sandy beaches and free sunbeds. Some of them with thick comfortable mattresses. Free pool towels could be changed daily. Free parking in hotel garage, but to use the safe in the room, you had to pay extra. In a four star hotel this ought to be included. Puerto de Mogan is a very quiet place with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, especially in the evenings when all the day trippers have left. So if you are looking for party, this is not the place, but if your main goal is to have a nice and relaxing holiday in the most sunny area on Gran Canaria, go here. We will definitely come back here.

At first sight the hotel looks like Disneyland but give it a chance. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. You have privacy. The lanscaping is imaginative. You are surrounded by sensationally beautiful tropical plants, birds are everywhere, fish swim in pools, all in excellent condition. The food is excellent too. OK, you have to bustle around with the other diners to get it but that's quite fun. I wouldn't bother with the exclusive restaurant again, it's pretty but you can get that sort of food in London. Pools and poolside are great and you're a five minute walk downtown to the little, not-too-done up port with bars, restaurants and shops. There's also a quite challenging cliff path and you can get to the next bay. I would definitely come back. MW
