After travelling in Bali for 12 days we searched for a relaxing stay at Gili Trawangan and we found a perfect place in Dream village. The bingalows are located in a beautiful garden at the promenade. For the beautiful beach you just have to cross the promenade.At the beach are chairs and enough shadow by the trees. Though it is directly on the promenade it is not loud as the bars are not directly at the bingalows, but also not too far. Just 5 min away. The only noise was the muezin and the cock in the morning as the bungalows are not well isolated, but this is also somehow charming.
The bungalows are built in a typical indonesian style including the outdoor bathroom. Although I was very sceptical about the outdoor bathroom in the beginning I have to say it is a great idea!The Bungalows are decorated in a lovely way and are very comfortable. You have everything you need. The breakfast is phantastic. Best banana pancakes ever!

I liked staying here. The hotel is run by an Italian manager named Angelo. He is very friendly and the entire staff is very alert to meet your expectations.
The hotel has no swimming pool, but has it's own part of the beach, with deckchairs.
There were always enough chairs for the guests when we stayed at the hotel, and that's with all the rooms occupied. The beach is next to the turtle breeding program, so sometimes when the wind is in the wrong direction you smell the aquaria.
In the morning an American breakfast is served. You can order anything you like, eggs, toast, pancake, fruit...it's more than enough!
We didn't stay in a bungalow, but in a room in a two-level building. The bathrooms are huge and very clean. One of the few hotels who actually use bleach to clean the bathroom. Very modern shower, with fresh water but not always warm. The bed is big and comfy. Early in the morning you will here the mosque though, and after the morning prayer the roosters will start their morning call...
The hotel also has a spa, but we didn't go there.
The hotel is situated on the popular east side of the island, not in the noisy south, but the island is small so it's only a short distance to popular restaurants and bars (Egoiste has good thai food and free wifi!).
I think the room was a little expensive (800.000, high season) but you'll get a very clean and comfortable room.

Yes, on Gili Trawangan there are nice places to stay. But the friendly service, Italian owner Angelo with his pet monkey and fantastically comfortable bungalows, why would you want anywhere else? We stayed for 6 nights in April 2011 paid 60 Euros per night inc. breakfast and it seemed about average. Lovely family feel to the place and I would highly recommend it!

Me and my friends stayed for (unfortunately) just 2 days in this beautiful hotel.
Very good location, away from the crowd of the centre, just in front at the best beach on the island!
Our bungalows were outstanding! Rooms were perfectly clean and one thing...having the toilet outside and taking the shower under the stars is just priceless!
Angelo, the manager of the Dream Village is AWESOME!!! He's a very friendly and good guy ! He takes good care of his guests and for us it's been a big pleasure meeting him and Fabrizio.
We definitely would love to come back to Gili T, possibly next time for a longer stay!
