“A lovely holiday, but with a slight mish mash of food.”

Me and my boyfriend who are 20 years old stayed here in july 2011, was a beautiful holiday, we got an unexpected sea view which was perfect!! and the sea view from the pool area really is lovely too! a couple of days with cloudy weather, which left us with not much to do, but then we realised that the town was only a 10 - 15 minute walk, in which we took a trip on a pedlo.. in some rather strong winds ha! its all a laugh. The walls werent that thin, but we might have had very quiet neighbours, in the mornings you could hear the cleaners and they werent shy to talk to eachother as loud as they wanted but your on holiday and its nice to have a wake up early in the morn. The sunbeds you had to catch early! The hotel did mainly have german and french families which at times i found it hard to communicate when they were hogging 5 sunbeds with only 2 members of the family actually there, but again didnt spoil the holiday as it was superb!! The food.. was a 50/50 outcome, some days was nice and somedays it wasnt, it felt like it was a complete mish mash of food which didnt go with eachother, i found myself eating spring rolls, pasta, roast potatoes and fish all in one plate. But other than that ibiza is a fab place, i really wanted to try it out and i really do recommend booking some tours as staying round the pool can get quite boring. Definetly see the sunset in san antonio, which is a lovely boat ride, and you get to experience the clubbers venturing out (not so good) and the trip to formentra.. was amazing!! looked as good as the carribean.! Enjoyyy!! x

Returned two weeks ago.The hotel was excellent.Food was really good, lots of choice.Location was great about 100metres from the beach. The room was very good with exceptional sea views at no extra charge.Since we last visited about 15 years ago the hotel has been upgraded and now has air conditioning in the rooms.

“A lovely break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

We have just returned from 4 nights at the Fiesta Cala Nova and have to say what a lovely break we had.

Good points:
The hotel is in a good location and only a short walk into Es Cana.
All of the staff were very friendly.
The transfer time from the airport was no longer than 30 minutes.
You can easily access the rest of the island using the buses from the centre of Es Cana and they are very cheap to use too!
The food in the hotel was very good and varied each night. Better than many hotels with a higher star rating in our opinion.
Breakfast opened early for our departure on the last day which was a nice touch.

Negative points:
The walls between each room are paper thin and even with the most considerate neighbours, you can hear everything!
The beds are too hard.
The pool area was fine during our stay and there were plenty of sunbeds, but during peak season it is clear to see the pool area is too small.
The decor of the communal areas, not so much the rooms, was a bit of blast back to the 1970's, but the hotel was immaculately clean.
If you have a room at the front of the hotel, you will be woken at 6.30am each morning with the dustbin lorry emptying the hotel skip.

These negative points are really only minor and certainly didn't ruin our stay.

Helpful hints:
When you are in the restaurant you need to choose your own table, use the cards provided to show you have occupied the table (turn over from green side to red side) and then buy your drinks from the bar at the back of the restaurant.
Ask for a room away from the front side (entrance side) of the hotel to avoid the noise from the bins.
If you want to take the bus to Santa Eulalia (well worth a visit) take the 18A bus from the centre of Es Cana 1 Euro 50 each way per person. If you want to go to Ibiza Town take the 18A to Santa Eulalia and then from the same bus stop get the number 30 bus which takes you to Ibiza Town 4 Euros each, each way. The buses pick you up from the same bus stop they dropped you off, very easy!!
The supermarket opposite the hotel, makes fresh sandwiches at lunch each day, which you can eat around the pool. Half a french stick filled with ham and tomato approx 2 euros.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter.

“So dissapointed”

We have been to this hotel for several years but this year it was dreadful. After a good flight we were sat in the transfer bus in the very hot sun for nearly an hour. We were unaware that we were waiting for people from another flight. No information was given to us by the Thomson rep although she came on several times to count us.
Booked in ok and got a got room with a nice view of the woods. We found the two "entertainers" Chicco and Enea were not very good. Enea was ok and worked hard but Chicco was useless. He was too loud and very pushing when getting names to take part in the activities. He often made inappropriate remarks in front of children and at times I think he thought he was at a 18.30 resort. Evening entertainment was not much better. There were a few "professional" acts which were entertaining but nothing very special. Most guests went out in the evening to the local bars or other hotels where there was good entertainment. I think stand up bingo and a stupid internet quiz were very lacking in entertainment value. We upgraded to all inclusive and found that generally the mid day lunch menu was better than the evening selection. Some evenings it was difficult to find a clean plate to put your meal on as there were so many plates with dried on food on them.
The beach was also a disappointment. It is 50% smaller than before as they have sectioned off a large strip with scrubby plants and flimsy fences. This means that the sun beds have to be closer together and that the beach bar is no longer near the sun beds.
It is a shame that there has been no investment in the hotel and that standards have slipped so badly. We have been to this hotel for over 10 years as have several of our friends but I think we may go elsewhere in future.

“5th Visit and it just gets Better”

We have just got back from the Cala Nova and have had a wonderful holiday once again. What more could you want? Good food (and loads of it), bright clean room with very comforable beds, Very friendly entertainment staff, hotel staff, efficient maid service with clean towels every day. Okay the entertainment leaves a lot to be desired but it is only a short pleasant walk into town and there are plenty of great bars and hotels with entertainment where you can spend your evenings. We had a fantastic room this year on the fifth floor with panoramic views all around. I will upload a few photos. I think the hotel does need a bit of a facelift but the price of a two week stay is so reasonable that we are already looking forward to our return trip in 2012.

Room Tip: Top three floors do not have ajoining doors. Ask for the side away from the main entrance as it is q...
