We've stayed in Es Cana before but always found the hotels a bit naff. La Perla is a little gem if you want a reasonably priced place to stay. The attached restaurant is great - plenty of Spanish eating there which is always a good sign, the food is fresh, reasonably priced and very tasty - some of the best value tapas on the island. The hotel is just bed and breakfast, no TV in the room and no air-con (though a powerful, large fan provided) - but at £50 a night for the two of us I'd call it great value - nice room, clean and quality cotton sheets, nice little veranda, good breakfast (cereal, tomatoes, cakes, etc and plenty of coffee on tap) which you are told is served from 8 - 10, but turn up at 11 and there's still a welcome (great after a late night). Really friendly staff - guests are mostly young couples - so great value and a warm welcome. Internet (4Euros an hour) and Free Wi-Fi available,

This hostal is pretty basic but it's a gem for the price and has a nice roof top swimming pool. Anna the receptionist is lovely and friendly as well. It is in central Es Canar but not really noisy which is good. Breakfast was included in the price, continental style. Funny eggy smell in the room sometimes, presumably the drains!

We moved here due to the awful time we had in Playa D'en Bossa - Bossa Mar/Jet Apartments and this was a breath of fresh air.

The rooms are really nice, they are cleaned - from what wee saw - every other day. There is a rooftop pool suntrap. The hotel does breakfast and has an attached restaurant. It is literally a coupls of strides from the beach and centre. There is wifi. The end room - room 1 had a weird running water noise which was constant and we got a weirdo couple next door who went nuts on each other but the lovely hotelier sorted that out. Ana the receptionist is soooooo nice she will help you with anything. There shoudl be an airport bus that is about 4 euro but it was not running til may and it cost 34 euro for a taxi to the airport. The resort is less expensive than Bossa but its still the same or dearer than at home. You can get a beer and local rum and coke for under a fiver.There are a couple of english bars and if you walk up the back of the hotel there is a weird bikers bar run by a man with one eye - this was a brilliant cheap place!! The Mar y Huerta does excellent food and is a nice place to sit at night. There were some English people there as opposed to none in Bossa.. Moes Grill right at the top of the long street running across the seafront - if you go past restaurant tree - did a free bbq and is good for the footy. Mar vent has excellent food and big portions and its own bakery which is very reasonable for takeaway. There are a few beach bars that give you a sunbed for the day if you buy a drink. There will be more open in summer but I would recommend this resort.
We did go to Evissa but found it ridiculously priced and not worth the trip. I would recommend people go all inc in Spain because at the min the prices are getting crazy. The people in Bossa say as long as people are stupid enough to pay for it we will charge. This is because in Bossa it is 14 euros for 2 drinks and in summer 20 euros for 2. At Pure life in Bossa they have no prices and I think he makes them up but even there it is 2 for 8 - he is especially arrogant. In Bossa there is no customer service whatsoever, you to to Es Cana and you totally notice the difference.

This is a family run hotel\hostel with a very comfortable and welcoming feel. We arrived and the gentleman at the front gave us our keys right away and when i asked to pay he said "you'll be here for a few days so we can figure it out later" even though I hadn't given him my credit card or anything like that. He and his wife were the nicest people I have met while traveling. The room was such a great deal, two rooms, kitchen, balcony, ensuite bathroom, etc. I thought it was going to be much more than we had read on the internet but it actually turned out to be even LESS. The hostel is in es canar, which isn't exactly a clubbing hot spot but it was a 1 min walk to an amazing beach and there are at least 6 bars along the way, each with deals on food and drinks, my favorite being 2 for 1 ANYTHING, including vodka redbulls (oh the hang over). The restaurant right across from the beach is awesome. cheap and delicious. there are also a few carnival rides open every evening. a good tip is to rent scooters from motos paco, attached to la perla, for 35 euro for 24 hours and explore the island. That was the best thing we did there. also, visit the hippie market.
