The rooms are not very big and the decoration is very poor. They are clean but lack a bit of comfort. The hotel is really centrally located which is the only plus.

Stayed in the Montesol for 2 nights and was generally happy with the standard of the accommodation. We had a room on the 3rd floor with a small balcony which gave fantastic views of the harbour on the left and Dalt Vila on the right. The room was small and basic and whilst it looked a bit shabby, it was kept clean. The staff seemed pleasant enough and the breakfast we had in the adjoining Cafe Montesol of french toast and croissants was enough to set us up for a hard day on the beach. The best thing about this hotel though is the location, situated on the Vara de Rey it is handy for just about everything - visits to Dalt Vila, drinking in the Portside bars, eating in the Old Town or simply shopping and wandering. There are small supermarkets close by and a taxi rank round the corner. Obviously the port is over the road and there are regular excursions by boat to surrounding beaches or Formentera. Pacha and El Divino are about a 10 minute walk away. If you a looking for standard accommodation in an extremely central and busy location then the Montesol would be a good choice. We paid around £70pn for the room.

The downside of this central location was the lack of parking close by but that would be the same for any hotel in the town centre. Also street noise is an issue but then you must be prepared for this if you want to stay centrally and again would be an issue for any centrally located hotel. If you want peace and quiet then it is probably best if you find somewhere else.

Ok, so this is a 1 * hotel, you get what you pay for. Room is basic, but clean and decent. Staff are ok. Location is superb. If you want a palace pay more for your hotel. We paid £70 per person for 3 nights stay. Bargain.....!

Snotty unhelpful reception staff sent me out wandering the streets of Ibiza town dragging my luggage to find an internet cafe so I could print off a non existent voucher for accommodation. They had my reservation and I had all the references and details but this was not enough for Mr Jobsworth.
Once I checked in I wished I had not bothered as my room was internal ie NO natural light and the bed was child sized.
The only bright point is the location but there are other cheaper friendlier hostals on this same street so AVOID this one.
