We spent our vacation there in September 2011. Having booked an unspecified trip (meaning we did not know what hotel we would get), I was much relieved to know that the hotel overlooked the sea.
We've got a room with a balcony with only a partial view on the ocean. But it was great anyway, as we enjoyed sunrises coming up over a mountain. I do think that we were lucky to get exactly that room because of the view. I do not think we would enjoy viewing the road with a number of bars and shops.
The room: spacious, with kitchenette and a balcony. Although there were no amenities or a hairdryer in the bathroom! (you have to bring it with you, or better buy there in Spain, it’s cheaper there). Everything was clean, the housekeeping staff was ready to clean the room every day, but we hanged on a "do not disturb sign", so I actually can't say how often they normally clean:).
The hotel itself is nice and clean. It has a coastal line although not a beach line as one can’t swim in the sea there (there are rocks and the ocean there is rough), it is however compensated by a pool.
The staff was extremely pleasant and English speaking (here I mean really speaking, not just mumbling). They also spoke some other languages.
Food was ok, we liked it. The first day we ate out (which was also good), then we switched to the full board and we didn’t regret. I would describe breakfast food selection as sufficient, lunch as modest (one can choose out of 2 or 3 dishes – can’t remember exactly how many). The dinners were more than good, to make it short all was delicious and we liked it. We stayed there for 7 days and every night we tried different dishes (to choose 1 out of 2). Again the kitchen staff were fast and the waiters were “pleasing”.
There were no “late night activities” in the hotel. And I would characterize the hotel as a family-oriented one.
To summarize, that was a wonderful bargain. Value for money. That was more than we had expected at the price we had paid.
