I have read the other comment about the rooms being small but I found my room (4) to be a sufficient size. Amenities in the room were basic but again sufficient. My only 'complaint' is there was no mirror at the dressing table and the only sockets were above the bed, which made straightening my hair a problem as I couldn't see what I was doing.
I had a balcony, which overlooked the river. It was an amazing view and I spent many a pleasurable hour reading and drinking wine on it. Really, I can't describe how beautiful it was. I think all the rooms have a balcony so no one should be disappointed.
I had some difficulty communicating with the lady who serves breakfast but she always chattered away regardless and was very cheery. What a great member of staff. She also cooked in the evening. The food was great, always fresh and her risotto is not to be missed.
As a solo traveller, I don't think I could have chosen a better hotel for my 'getting away from it all' holiday...
