I booked a superior room which I found small, especially the bed.
The location on a hilltop near an old large fort and in a small old town is very nice.
The poor across a narrow cobbled street from the main hotel is small but offers excellent views and is very relaxing.
The restaurant offers a limited menu that would become irritating after more than 3-4 days. Like all Pousadas, the menu is very local and regional and so may not be to everyone’s taste.
The service is very good. There is a terrace beside the restaurant that is not used and which I felt would be a nice place to eat.
The old town offers no real facilities and it is not practicable to walk to the adjacent new town for a meal or drinks. The road is too narrow and steep and the distance too great.
The hotel is very good value, especially with the promotions being offered by the Pousada chain.
Charging €5 for an hour’s Internet access is a bit unreasonable these days.
