My boyfriend and I stayed here in September for 10 nights. We were a bit nervous about it being in the middle of nowhere, but had no reason to be - the town is lovely, and a short, windy drive to the larger, nearby towns. In fact, it was just as pretty, if not more so, than most of the places we visited. It gave a real insight into Sicilian life.
The hotel itself was immaculate, and the staff were always friendly and helpful, even if we had trouble communicating sometimes (I don't speak Italian that well!). Our room was on the first floor, right at the back - we believe it was the largest room. We were amazed, it was like a flat! Large, comfy bed, big bathroom, sofa/sofabed, wardrobe, desk, tv, balcony, etc. By the time our holiday was up, we felt like the room was our home, and I'll never forget that balcony view over the hills. Beautiful.
The breakfast buffet was lovely, and after 10 days we were still enjoying it. The coffee was amazing! You could have toasties, cake, fruit tart, cereal, tea and coffee, and fruit, if I recall.
If you are considering whether or not to stay at this hotel, I would say just do it. To me, it was perfect - as long as you have a car! There were local busses though, so you are not completely stranded. The town also has many good places to eat of an evening, and the view from the top of the town (climb the steps in the corner of the square where the hotel backs onto) is breathtaking.
