“Wonderful hotel, we are returning in 2012”

We visited the Oceanis in early September 2011. When the coach pulled up outside the hotel our reaction was WOW! A beautiful white, gleaming hotel. The reception area is ultra modern and very stylish. Our room was well decorated and very comfortable, obviously just refurbished to a very high standard. The outside areas were stylish and very user friendly - you honestly felt like you were in paradise. There was a bus stop just outside, so you could be in Kos Town in 10 minutes (regular service) buy your tickets at reception. The staff were very pleasant, caring and kind - just couldn't do enough for you. The food was buffet style and there was always plenty of choice. The taverna at lunchtime provided good food and a wonderful view over the sea and Turkey in the distance. The maitre 'd, Antonis and the captain, Stephanos always made you feel as if you were special customers and took the trouble to find out things about you which they chatted to you about, it was all inclusive, but you felt as if you were getting a personal service. Everyone was so friendly, and small details like the evening drinks waiter remembering what you drink (even though he was serving many people, who all got the same attention) helped to make our holiday special. The only slight down side was the entertainment, which was not good and was on a weekly loop, so the second week you saw the same acts. One tip, if you are going into the sea take some footwear as it is rocky getting in, but well worth doing. Will we be going back? We booked for 2012 the week after we got home - can't wait.

“Pleasant and friendliest staff”

We should have stayed at the Pelagos Suites in Lambi in September but I broke my wrist so had to cancel and then rebooked in October to the Oceanis Beach which was a good choice. I do not think I can find any negatives points.

The rooms were large and plenty of wardrobe space. People had complained about the bathroom not having a door to it. Do they go on holiday with complete strangers! It did not have a door to the outside of the bathroom but comprised of "his and hers" sinks, a toilet with a door and a shower with 2 glass doors with plenty of hot water and a shower head to die for. It must have been approximately 6" diameter and had coloured lights in it. It was like a disco.

The food was always varied and plentyful. The chefs were constantly filling the containers. I complained one day because the plates were not hot and this was only because the plates had been stacked too high above the warming elements. This was soon rectified by taking the extra plates off. The Maitre'd of the dining room both at breakfast and evening meal tried to speak to everyone every day. Our waitress, Christina, was a gem - so friendly and helpful and she was back in the evening serving drinks and even joined in the dancing and got guests up to dance. Christos, the evening barman in the lobby bar soon learned what your "tipple" was. How he remembers them I do not know. He also was very friendly.

We always used to go to the smaller pool known as the quiet pool and Nellie the snack bar waitress was yet another gem always smiling and pleased to chat with you. She made some lovely pancakes in the afternoon topped with sugar or chocolate. Put weight on.

The site was large and it was nice just get up from your sunbed and have a walk round the tennis courts and down to the beach and bar, then on the front and round to the other swimming pool and yet another bar and then back.

The greek night evening entertainment was good.

The hotel was at the very end of Psaldi and it took about 1 hour to walk to Kos town which we only did twice. However, the bus stop is right outside the hotel and ran every 15 minutes and only took about the same time into Kos.

For the guest who did not find the hotel spa, it was down some steps at the end of the large pool and near to the gym. It is also signed posted from the beach just on the path from the beach bar.

lovely hotel, very good food, poor location.furnishings in the rooms and public areas was of good quality.staff were very good in restaurant though not so good in other areas.we had some unfortunate weather which the hotel found hard to cope with.spoilt an otherwise nice holiday.private pool rooms not at all private, people walking by all the time, glad we didnt have one, would of been waste of money.better hire safe,i had an item of jewelry stolen from my room,no one was interested or concerned.

Room Tip: high floor overlooking main road, most private and quiet.

“Great Relaxing Escape”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2011

An excellent choice for relaxing and quiet holiday. The hotel is spotless with friendly and enthusiastic staff who will do anything to help. The standard of service and food was excellent with a great choice at each service. reception staff were excellent with a wide knowledge of many languages and car or bike hire was easily arranged with drop offs at the hotel at no extra cost. The location of the hotel a little way outside Kos town meant about an hours walk or a few minutes on the local bus which picked up outside the hotel and yuo buy your tickets from reception they are cheaper. For the return you buy them from a kiosk at the bus station as it is more expensive to pay on the bus. Kos town welll worth a visit particularly the old parts.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view tend to be noisier and in the shade later in the day

“Great Adult Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

This adult only hotel has everything. Fantastic views, friendly staff and loads of pools. The only thing we were miffed about is the fact that they have rooms with 'splash' pools and jacuzzi's which we didn't know about. Kos is a small island, but very close (only 3 miles by sea) to mainland Turkey, Bodrum. If you want to go to Bodrum there are plenty of people who will give you great offers down at the Marina, without the tour guides. If you want the tours book with the hotel, but it's twice as expensive. We went with the Aegean Prince II and the staff were very well organised, even letting us into the cockpit to watch from there.

The Oceanis itself had lots to offer, although with it being a 'spa' we never found the spa, there were no signs and although we were there 10 days we never did find it!!!

The food in the main restaurant was plentiful and varied, and the view overlooking the sea was second to none.

The only warning is the Mosquitos, try as they might, they hang around the lit up areas and are plentiful, although very tiny! We didn't get bit much, but we wore repelent every night.

The entertainment was well done in the evenings, and you have to get there early for a good seat. (We went in June so it was quite busy).

The weather was warm, (too warm in Bodrum for me which is always 3 degrees hotter than Kos) but 9/10 times it was windy so that made it more bareable.

We did hire a buggy for a day, but found a day was probably a bit too long....as we didn't have a map of the area. Ask the manager of the restaurant for places to visit, he's really helpful and will willingly advise you.

All in all a great hotel, and not a mark, or dirt to be found, the walls of the hotel look like they were whitewashed every night!!

Room Tip: Ask about the ones with pools and jacuzzis, otherwise all were lovely with good sized balcony's.
