“A beautiful resort, great beach and wonderful service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We had a great time in December of 2011 at Dreams La Romana. 9 great restaurants with different ambiances to choose from - with great menus and service at each. Beautiful beach - very nice natural setting with palm trees. The resort seemed just the right size - everything was close in terms of walking, yet there was a lot to choose from. Kenia Ramirez went above and beyond call of duty to accomodate Apple Vacation guests. She was amazing!

Room Tip: Higher floors seem less noisy.

“Worst Place ever!”

Well i dont no where to start..This place looked lovley from the pictures.. We arrived traverling from florida, On arrival everything was fine, Then we got to the room and noticed dead cockroaches,Holes in the sheets dirty bathroom. We booked ocean view room, we then started unpacking and heard birds above our bedroom wich had nested in the roof.So we went down and complained. We got moved the next morning to another room and this one was just as bad, the loud horrible music from one of the pools. We went for dinner in one of the resturantants and this was shocking. After moving to 4 different rooms we ended up in the preferred club.My boyfriend became Very ill on the 3rd day from the food and couldnt stay away from the bathroom. The staff are a joke.the food is a joke.when we where relaxing by the pool one afternoon, there was a wedding going on and two people staying ran into the wedding and started a fight..SHocking!I wouldnt even bother wasting your money..We had to put up with two weeks of this.

The list could go on...We did not expect this, we couldnt wait to leave. In the end they offered for us to come back for a week for a free holiday - NO way.!!! Awfull place..DONT DO IT!!

Oh and the weather was terrible!

“An excellent hotel, a great destination”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

A great hotel and vacation.

I went in Jan 2012 for 2 weeks in a family party of 10, aged between 27 and 84.

Pros

Great Location in the Caribbean part of Dominican Republic. Much prettier than the North of the island.
Very Clean
Good Value
Good Food - Good choice in the many restaurants.
Premium Drinks for all
Great Service - apart from one minor incident (waiter who made mistake with order and then insisted that the 3 people who ordered chicken ordered fish, and that as he had worked there for 8 years could not possibly have made a mistake. He did roll his eyes but promptly brought the correct order, so no big issue. I am still giving 5 out of 5 for service)
Entertainment - Good selection of shows and activities
Sports - Beach, Water and field sports are catered for and actively promoted. Plenty to do here if you feel energetic. I had a short sailing lesson which cost $30 dollars and then took a catamaran out most days for free. A great way to explore and very safe. Also the breeze stops you feeling too hot.
Trip to Saona was great again, the best trip on the island.
Hotel night club was good fun.

Cons

The beach is OK but is sand over cement. You can still play beach volleyball though.
Long 1.5 hour transfer from Punta Cana airport.
Not really anywhere to go for a walk outside the complex.
One of our party got sick and had 3 nights in hospital due to stomach bug, however onsite doctor was great. I would be careful about the beach BBQ as some of the food is lying around for a while exposed and not kept hot.
Patchy Internet access which you need to pay for, but then that is true all over the Dominican Republic

All in all I award 5 stars for most things and recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Make sure any elderly or less able guests get a room on the ground floor as there are no lifts / ele...

Myself and my boyfriend stayed at the dreams la romana from the 30th September to the 11th October. We Booked everything directly through Thomson and also booked premium class due to the length Of the flight an I must say it is definately worth paying the extra for it! The transfer was an hour and a half and was a private taxi just for myself and my partner and was direct as we said we didn't want to stop half way.

Upon arrival of the hotel we were greeted with a lovely glass of champagne and had a swift check in, our room was located in block 4 on the 3rd floor an had lively high ceilings and was very spacious, clean an modern! Just my taste!

The hotel has 8 restaurants all of which were lovely but beware you must wear long pants and full shoes in the Italian and the French restaurant!

The entertainment was good, something different every night although me and my boyfriend made use of the casino and loved it an there is also a mini nightclub/bar next to the casino!

There is 3 pools, the one for the privilege, a huge pool with inflatable wall in for the children, and the infinity pool directly on the beach with a swim up bar which is were we parked ourselves everyday! The swim up bar staff were brilliant an very entertaining spoiling us with lots of different cocktails! The beach was also one of our daytime spots which wa just a dream!!!

The location of the hotel is in the middle of know were but this didn't bother us in the slightest as this is why we booked an all inclusive hotel with everything you need.

Ideally I would say this hotel suits all people but there was a lot of people on there honeymoon!

We would definately visit dreams la romana again and we definately recommend it to anyone!

“Just returned from Wonderful week at Dreams LaRomana”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Spent a wonderful week at Dreams Resort in LaRomana. Had a total of (14)people in our group. We were all placed in building #7 and my wife and I were placed in an ocean front suite. We have been at the resort many times and each year we have a wonderful time. I worked with Mario, Chief Concierge, and he provided everything that I requested. We once again had Kenia, as our hostess, and she made sure that our dinners were taken care of each night. With a group of 14 this was quite helpful. Our friend Picasso, once again provided us with activities each day while we were on the beach. He also provided a special show for the group when we had dinner on the beach our last night at the resort. Anita , now at the towel stand, remembered our group from our previous visits and she went out of her way to be sure we were happy.
If you are looking for a great hotel in the Dominican Republic, it is Dreams in LaRomana. The ride from the LaRomana airport is only about 15mins. Remember to fly into LaRomana. The staff is wonderful, and the restaurants are great. We ate at the Italian, French, Seafood, Mexican, and also the Seaside Grille. The filet melts in your mouth.

Room Tip: Buildings 4, & 5 are close to the main pool.
