“Not bad - if you can find it.”

Originally we had booked a hotel in Aix-en-Provence, but after learning that cars get broken in to at an astonishing rate we decided to stay at Le Domaine de Mejeans, because it has private parking.

The address of the hotel is a place called Alleins but it's not really there, but rather a few miles away from Alleins and it is really hard to find, because the hotel has no actual street address. Make sure you get your GPS set to N. 43,70889° / E. 5,13653°.

What we liked the least about this B & B is the fact that the TV is very small and has only five French channels. No CNN, no BBC or any English or German language news or entertainment channel, so unless you are fluent in French or don't like TV anyway, it might be perfect for you.

The Owner Annie is a very friendly and helpful person and so is her husband.

Breakfast is OK. Optional dinner (reservation required) is Ok too, but at EURO 40.00 per person somewhat overpriced. Dining out, away from the hotel., is not so easy, because there is not that much to choose from in the province area close to the hotel.

We would recommend Le Domaine de Mejeans to people (who travel by car) and want to enjoy a relaxing stay, away from everything.

One more thing - here is the new, safe, great city center location parking garage in Aix-en-Provence:
PARC DE STATIONNEMENT ROTONDE
Rue Villevieille
13100 AIX EN PROVENCE

Bon Voyage!

“What you are looking for in Provence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2009

My wife and I found Le Domaine de Mejeans quite by accident during a short trip to Provence. We just called them out of the blue from a short description in a guidebook and were not sure what to expect. The house, the grounds, service, and food were top of the line. We arrived in the early evening after a drive down from Lyon and spent a quiet evening relaxing at the property. Dinner was simple, yet excellent with a fixed menu, but a nice selection of local wines. The breakfast was also superb and just the right way to start off the day. Madame gave us a list of towns to tour and each was more stunning than the next. If you have a short tour of the Luberon planned or even to spend more time, we recommend this property highly.

My husband and I stayed only one night at this wonderful B&B unfortunately. Not only was it top-notch in decor, amenities, the food was excellent. Wished we could have stayed longer and will return!!!!!

“An absolute must in Provence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2007

If you are going to Provence, Domaine de Mejeans is a must! It is in a convenient location between Aix and Avignon. There is a beautiful garden, a pool and a pond with geese, ducks, etc. The lane is lined with huge trees....in other words it is a beautiful spot. In addition to this idyllic setting, the house and rooms are also wonderful too. Recent renovations give everything a new feel and your host, Annie, has decorated everything with great taste! Which brings us to the best part of Domaine - Annie - she is the perfect host, willing to go the extra mile for you, maintaining the rooms immaculately and on top of that preparing the most delicioius breakfasts and dinner (on the night we arrived).

If we could give Domaine more than five stars we would. We stayed at two other highly rate B&B's in the south of France which were both very nice, but this was the best.

“a jem!!”

This is a must! Small, intimate B& B within a beautiful setting in the heart of Provence. The owner is extremely welcoming and friendly without being intrusive. Delicious breakfast and salads for lunch. Must have a car as in the countryside.... close to St Remy de Provence - worth a visit
