“Great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

We stayed at this hotel for four days. And we loved the place…

- Small guest house, only a few rooms.
- Extremely quiet. In the early morning, it was impossible to say if it was 4 am or 8 am.
- Very friendly hosts.
- We intended to stay for dinner only on the first night. After the first dinner we decided to stay for the second one. Then the third dinner, and the fourth. Excellent quality, great service, no need to for another restaurant. The “chief” loves fish, myself less, but with his talent I always appreciated the fish.
- One of the most beautiful (small) gardens I know, with a nice pool. When we stayed there, the entire region suffered from the 'Mistral", a nasty wind, but to our surprise, the garden is very well protected that we could still stay at the pool without getting uncomfortable.
- Guest complained about their stay with (small?) kids. I can understand their comments… this place is very quiet and maybe not the best for kids to come for having fun and some action…. Although a few couples with one kid were around during our stay, enjoying themselves, and never bothering us.
- We will come back!

“Lovely Quiet Secluded Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 April 2011

We stayed for three nights in April 2011 whilst meeting up with an old school friend nearby. It is not easy to find and is not on GPS in fact one day we got lost and could not find it our own fault as we did not take the instructions, map and mobile with us, We were the only people staying so it was very quiet. The decor is outstanding in the public areas and the room. Everything is very tasteful and in lovely colours. The lighting is subdued and it is difficult to read in the dark, Breakfast was beautifully served in different crckery every day as was the selection provided of fruit and yoghurt. Madam is very pleasant as were the staff. One evening we had eaten lunch but came back early and asked if we could have a sandwich. A lovely presentation of cheeses was provided with a beautiful unsual salad and two glasses of wine expensive 50 euros but all the food around was very expensive. The TV in the room was hidden behind a covered unit, very small with only 5 French terrestial channels. Not good enough for such a quality establishment but our only criticism. Sattelite TV with a variety of language channels is available and in such a quiet hotel is really a neccesity. The grounds and swimming pool area are excellent. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel highly

“Not bad - if you can find it.”

Originally we had booked a hotel in Aix-en-Provence, but after learning that cars get broken in to at an astonishing rate we decided to stay at Le Domaine de Mejeans, because it has private parking.

The address of the hotel is a place called Alleins but it's not really there, but rather a few miles away from Alleins and it is really hard to find, because the hotel has no actual street address. Make sure you get your GPS set to N. 43,70889° / E. 5,13653°.

What we liked the least about this B & B is the fact that the TV is very small and has only five French channels. No CNN, no BBC or any English or German language news or entertainment channel, so unless you are fluent in French or don't like TV anyway, it might be perfect for you.

The Owner Annie is a very friendly and helpful person and so is her husband.

Breakfast is OK. Optional dinner (reservation required) is Ok too, but at EURO 40.00 per person somewhat overpriced. Dining out, away from the hotel., is not so easy, because there is not that much to choose from in the province area close to the hotel.

We would recommend Le Domaine de Mejeans to people (who travel by car) and want to enjoy a relaxing stay, away from everything.

One more thing - here is the new, safe, great city center location parking garage in Aix-en-Provence:
PARC DE STATIONNEMENT ROTONDE
Rue Villevieille
13100 AIX EN PROVENCE

Bon Voyage!

“What you are looking for in Provence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2009

My wife and I found Le Domaine de Mejeans quite by accident during a short trip to Provence. We just called them out of the blue from a short description in a guidebook and were not sure what to expect. The house, the grounds, service, and food were top of the line. We arrived in the early evening after a drive down from Lyon and spent a quiet evening relaxing at the property. Dinner was simple, yet excellent with a fixed menu, but a nice selection of local wines. The breakfast was also superb and just the right way to start off the day. Madame gave us a list of towns to tour and each was more stunning than the next. If you have a short tour of the Luberon planned or even to spend more time, we recommend this property highly.
