“A great choice for a family vacation.”

We stayed for the first time in Posedion Palace this summer, with my wife and two daughters ages 4 and 2. Our general impression is that we had a great time in a family oriented hotel resort, and for a great price too.

Let's start from the beginning, entry to the hotel is a bit tricky - you have to come out of the Aegian Motorway for Leptokarya, then over the motorway, then take the RIGHT (not the left for Leptokarya) - this is a straight road parallel to the motorway, and you need to drive slowly to see the signs for the hotel. You take a turn left and drive almost to the see itself, and you are there.

Personnel at the reception was kind and quick, and we were able to take the car inside the resort and park just outside of the small building with our room - just opposite the tennis courts.

Room was pretty good, 4 beds were already set so we didn't have to use our baby bed we brought just in case. It was clean, had a small TV set, lots of space for clothes etc. There was also a big balcony with a great view of the green park and the see in the distance. Some of the furniture in the room could use a bit of maintenance, like the entrance door and the door knobs.

The main facilities in the hotel left a good impression. We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, and lunch in the tavern - food was generally great all-around and with many varieties. Soft drinks and alcohol (wine, ouzo, etc) were available all-inclusive.

On to the beach. It is good to have swimming protective shoes while swimming in the sea, as the near shore consists of mostly rocks, but there is also a ~50m water bridge you can use and get into the see without walking over the rocky part. Sea was clean and generally super-duper. Beach-beds are not part of the hotel deal, so you pay 6EU for 2 with a big umbrella, but you get a receipt and you can come back after lunch if you want for the same price.

On to the pool. Pool-beds are free to use, and there is generally more people at the pool than at the sea. Water was clean day in - day out, and the children's pool is located so that you can set up very near to it and watch the kids. You can also have a drink, as the tavern is right next to the pool.

Evenings were great, as Mount Olympus is nearby and there was a breeze almost every evening. There was also theater for the children, and several playgrounds. There was a pretty loud music show most probably at the beach bar, every night.

As for other services, internet was available through non-secured WiFi, which was mostly slower than what I am used to - although I got good broadband speed on a couple of sessions.

One day we accidentaly locked the key-card in the room, and when I got to the reception to ask for help, they identified me and provided a second key-card in 1 minute at no cost, which was in my opinion very good customer service.

All together, we had a great vacation and would recommend staying at Poseidon Palace to any family. Stay well.

“Superb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2008

The hotel (location, clean rooms, breakfast, dinner, staff) was great.
You can go long walks along the seaside without the disturb of the cars.
Very spacious room and bath (brand new) and the linen white and brite as new.
The food excellent .
All the areas of the hotel very clean.
Internet acces very goog with few euros (3€ for one hour).
Rates reasonable.
Excellent, definitely I suggest this hotel and I promise to myself that I will return in the future.

“Who gave it so many stars??”

I was surprised to see it reach 5* because if I remember correctly it was 4* some years back. I have stayed in this hotel more than 5 times due to a yearly conference around April-May. To be honest, it's a classic hotel and has an ok service but too many problems. The walls seem concrete but they are very thin (every year i could hear people in their "intimate" times) the food had given me poisoning twice and the facilities are not up to a 5 star standard. No satellite (the tv barely worked) no mini bar, no room service, no safe, no dry cleaning and of course no restaurant high standards. If I could give it a star rating I'd rate it 3* only because i'm generous.

  • Liked — The location is good
  • Disliked — The food and service of this hotel as well as the other facilities that don't fit to a 5* hotel

This is the worst service I have encountered in the five times I have been to Greece. Unlike all my previous visits this one turned to be a nightmare for me and my wife. We visited the resort last September having seen the long coastline on our way to Halkidiki the previous year (which is magnificent by the way). The beach is not what it seems and is full of medium size rocks as you enter (nothing like the sandy beach we saw at the brochure) and you may only stare at the sandy bottom if you go to 10 meters depth. As for the sun tan chairs, well they charge you 3 Euros per day!. The rooms are typical of a 3* Greek hotel (you are supposed to be a in 5* hotel!) with rough cement walls painted white. There is central air-conditioning which they switch on only in the afternoon  the weather in mid-September was too hot for us. The swimming pool is too small for so many people (there must be more than 200 rooms) and since the recreation area is located next to the pool you cannot get a peaceful moment from the loud speakers of the outdoors aerobics class. The food is OK but not up to 5* hotel standards and to make it even worse they have only paper napkins at the table (this is a 5* hotel!). there is no fresh orange juice for breakfast and not even fresh milk to put on the cereals!! We ll try to be more careful next time.
