“Really nice site!”

Stayed at this site with Canvas Holidays at the end of August/ beginning of September.

Firstly this area of France is really beautiful with picturesque towns such as Dol-De-Bretagne, Dinan, and St Malo relatively nearby.

The site itself is really big and this did mean we had a bit of a walk from our mobile home to the shop/reception but this was quite pleasant. The facilities were also pretty good, with nice (but busy) swimming pools, free wifi in the bar, tennis courts, table tennis, pedalos, golf, most things you can think of. The only downside to this is that you have to pay extra for many things.

Overall, a nice site with helpful staff, especially great for families with children.

“Scary!!! (But kids liked the pools)”

If you would like to visit a 'foreign' country like France and know that you are on holiday in said foreign country, then do not stay here. It is like staying in a suburb of London. Not only are nearly all of the guests from the UK, but the restaurants cater to UK expectations (not French-quality cuisine) and even the convenience store on the site carries primarily UK food. It was like having a nightmare where I paid for a holiday to get away, and then did not go anywhere.

That said, the kiddies liked the swimming pools and felt it was worth it for those alone.I beg to differ.

“Fantastic Family Holiday”

We were after a cheaper option this year so decided on a Keycamp mobile home in Northern Brittany. We have teenage daughters of 17 and 14 and small boys of 3 and 6 so trying to find something to please all is always top of our agenda (never mind us!!). We booked a 3 bedroom mobile which was adequate for our 10 day stay, excellent kitchenette with full hob/cooker, full size fridge/freezer, microwave etc. We were impressed with the size of the outdoor area and the essential BBQ which we used more than cooking inside. The campsite itself is very impressive with extensive facilities and the excellently run kids club which our 6 year old loved. Some of the reviews state that the leisure facilities were pricey but to be honest, if you pick and choose what you do then it was reasonable enough. 5euros for pedaloes, 9euros for pony riding....swimming pools free of course and if you get good weather which we did for 6/10 of our days then you're laughing.
Nearby Dol de Bretagne had a couple of excellent supermarkets with extensive selections of fresh meat and fish and also some reasonably priced restaurants too. We ate onsite only once and for 6 of us cost 50euros which wasn't bad.
I can't fault Keycamp for their reps or customer service, both very good. Only complaint was that blinds and curtains in the van were slightly mildewy and they were unable to provide extra blankets after a very cold first night. We bought some 5 euro duvets in the Super U at Dol de Bretagne as it was unbearable!
All in all, I would definately recommend this site and Key camp, you just have to take your luck with the weather as when it rains you end up having to spend more money on indoor activities.

“Not bad...but!”

A nice hotel as a base but there are a few downsides. Arrived on a Sunday in early September to be told that both the bar and restaurant are closed on a Sunday. Not a good start! Staff quite willing to book you a taxi to take you into Dol-de-Bretagne but this will cost you £18+ one way. Restaurant in Hotel is very expensive (when it's open) and personally I did not think it was worth the money.
The golf course is great but the clubhouse facilities limited...yes you can get a drink afterwards but finish playing after 2pm then there is no chance of any food!
Having said that the hotel room was clean and tidy if a little basic.

“Will Never Go Back-Appaling Holiday”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

My family and i arrived on Sat 27th Aug after a long drive we couldn't wait to check in and get stuck into an action packed holiday.
Check in opened 40 mins late and there was an apology from Rich who said they had 19 vans to clean and was chucking people out at 5am just to make sure everything was ready for the mast influx of guests arriving that day.....not an ideal welcome.

We were shown to our van-a Ruby one we stayed with Lifestyle holidays, first and last time. The van looked nice from the outside, large open space with a wooded section not far it looked quite nice.
The decking was not very safe the steps were broken and the whole thing wobbled, the van was dirty dirt all over the floor, grease on the table, bathroom was dirty, there was no cooker just a microwave it was meant to be a combination oven but it was just a bog standard microwave, the plates, glasses and cutlery were dirty and i had to wash everything before using.
The BBQ was filthy and flies were buzzing around it.
The site itself is sat in the middle of nowhere, all activities on site where very expensive, 9euro to walk a horse a few yards, 32euro each for the adventure course, 10euro for a pizza, the shop well you needed a mortgage to buy anything from there 5euro for a small load of bread, 3 euro for a tin of beans etc, everything you wanted to do cost way too much money.

The first night we were all freezing and shivered throughout the night we were only provided with one blanket each and the kitchen area had a small heater which hardly gave off any heat, so the next day i left a message asking for some more blankets as had other people who were cold at night, these blankets never came.

By this time we had had enough and packed up and went home, the best thing we did as once we arrived home thats when our fun started and weeks holiday began all over again.
Please don't stay with Lifestyle Holidays it was really appalling and i will never ever visit anywhere like this again in France
