Basicly making the effort to write a review as I want to warn people what to expect and how to prepare if coming to this island.
The island itself is beautiful, however the resort and its facilities totally ruin the experience.
Often we found ourselves discussing solutions/issues or just in complete bewilderment to a majority of the practises and operations taking place by the resort
ALot of the time we felt lied to or deceived.
We were lucky, we saved ourselves from being ripped off from the accomodation as we had a half price "OurDeal" voucher. I can now see why they have this offer available.
What you must do,
Take your own food!!, it is worth the extra baggage as it will save your health and you will save a fortune.
Take your own snorkel gear, floating devices and other water sport equipment as this will also save you a fortune.
We also, like many other reviewers were shocked upon our arrival that first of all our room wasnt ready and the lengthy wait till it was AND the fact that our bags were left outside, unattened for this period, very strange practise which I have never come across before. This needs to change.
The equipment for hire, such as kayaks, snorkels, boats etc we found to be extremeley overpriced, this resulted in us eventually bypassing activities as throwing our money away didnt seem like fun to us.
The resort feels miles behind in technology and basic furnishings considering the money they must rake in with crazy over priced everythings!!!!!! Very rundown and in serious need of an upgrade.
The staff seemed freindly a majority of the time but some had attitudes, liked they owned you and had the right to boss you around. One bar staff member in particular, apart from coming across rather dense had a attitude from day 1 which I did not appreciate.
Also communication with some staff members was difficult, main reason being that they did not understand english very well.
However the worst experience of staff behaviour was on the sand tobogganing. The tour guide John was very aggressive, angry, grumpy and was not providing a good experience for anyone. His name was John.
He progressivley got angrier and angrier as the tour went on, yelling at people and making offensive comments to people.
Eventually he lost it and had a full on arguement with a asian tourists as he attempted to go for one last slide down the hill. This escalated to a point where he told the male asian tourist that he had to walk back as he did not listen and he was not allowed on the bus as he guarded the bus entrance. Everyone became very uncomfortable with this scene as the wife got involved and there child was crying as the argueing continued.
My girlfriend and I could not beleive what was going on and found it very unacceptable behaviour from John who kept this going for 15mins, arguing back and forth untill finally he made out as though it was a big joke and let him on the bus. Some joke, no one was laughing.
Inappropriate. This really dampened our trip.
Ok, dolphin feeding, 1 dolphin turns up, 100 people +++ lining up to feed it??? anyway was a good experience apart from the sneaky money grab where people are told no flash photograpy near the dolphins, meanwhile a resort photograper is flashing away taking photos in your face as you feed the dolphin, so the only decent photos available are the ones they took and they come at a premium.
Was even more surprised the following day to see on the dolphin attendance board for that night that 5 dolphins were present??? hmmm I was there and there was only 1.
Other sneaky tricks included checking you out at 10am yet organising your return ferry for 4pm, forcing you to stay on the island with any belongings hoping to sqeeze that last drop of cash out of you before you leave on food or activities which are extremley overpriced.
Honeslty I could go on and on but overall the island is beautiful, the water is great, wildlife is great, shipwrecks are awesome just a shame the resort, staff and prices ruined it.
If I return, I will be self sufficient and camping well away from the resort.

Dear mattieflavour,
Thank you for posting your review on Trip Advisor. I’m sorry to hear your trip did not live up to your expectations.
The package offered via the “Ourdeal” website stated in its Terms and Conditions that check-in time was 3pm, and that you would be booked on our 10am launch to the resort and the 4pm launch back to the mainland. It also stated that you could contact us prior to travel if you wanted to change to another launch time. Subject to availability you could have also changed you launch time while at the resort should you have wished to. It is the guests responsibility to make themselves aware of these conditions when purchasing.
The resort has a variety of room styles and packages available. Some of these offer rooms which contain kitchenette or full kitchen facilities. Guests in these rooms are more than welcome to bring along their own food should they choose to do so. The resort operated a number of dining options including buffets in Tursiops Restaurant and the Beach House Rotunda, both of which have salad bars available.
Our guests are also welcome to bring their own water sports equipment. In general we find that the majority of our guests feel that the prices for our tours and activities are reasonably priced, and that providing over 40 free activities is appreciated.
I glad that you found the majority of our staff friendly however I am concerned about your comments in relation to the barman and John on the Desert Safari tour. I will be passing these comments on to the respective resort managers for them to investigate further. Unfortunately you have not given us the barman’s name, however we will take the opportunity to remind all our staff of the need to provide high levels of customer service at all times. We do encourage our guests to speak with our on resort managers if they feel they have not received the service they require so it can be remedied immediately.
The dolphins that come into the jetty each night are completely wild, and we therefore have no control over their arrivals. I’m pleased to say we enjoy a 98% attendance record with the dolphins with up to 7 dolphins arriving nightly. It is indeed possible that several other dolphins turned up after you had finished feeding. The reason we do not allow our guests to use flash photography when in the water with the dolphins is to stop flashes continually going off into the dolphins eyes. Our photographers are stationed behind the dolphins to minimise this risk. The purchase of the professional photos is completely optional.
Again we are sorry that your visit did not live up to expectations, and hope that we may one day have you visit the resort again so we may change your perceptions.
