“Lovely relaxing break”

Just returned from Tenerife yesterday and an 11 night stay at the Torviscas. Having read some of the reviews before we went, we did wonder what we would get when we arrived!

I honestly wonder what people want when they go away? I've seen reviews on here commenting about 1 English TV Channel and another complaining about the size of the TV. Sorry, but if people are paying good money to go to the sun and then spend most of their time trying to watch English Channels, then why not stay at home!!!!!

I totally agree with other comments about how tired the hotel is looking in places, but all in all, it's very clean, we had a good room at the back of the hotel on the 4th floor, and although a couple of cracked tiles in the bathroom, and dated decor I certainly wouldn't get stressed on a holiday about something as minor as that!

Also we saw complaints about the hard beds? I was expecting to go and sleep on bricks by the comments on here but the beds are firm NOT hard.......

Food is varied, and lots of it. Yes it can be the same/similar most evenings, but I think people forget they are catering for a hell of a lot of people all with different tastes. I can honestly say I had something different on each of the eleven nights we were there, simply by what I chose.
People forget that the restaurants outside in the resort are serving up the same menu each evening, but it's up to the individual to choose something different isn't it? You could definitely choose something different each evening at this hotel.

Staff were very good at the hotel, friendly, helpful, whichever location you were in.

Pool area was good, yes a lot of our international colleagues were down putting towels on their beds at 8am, but we still got a decent bed even at about 10am. Obviously this is February so not sure what it would be like in the height of the summer.. Some of the Brits were doing the same I hasten to add so if you can't beat them, join them!

We booked with First Choice / Thomson and wouldn't hesitate in booking with them again as we have done in the past. One of the reps, Charlie was excellent but we only saw him at the Welcome Meeting and when we booked an excursion with him. Two other lady reps I'm afraid we were very disappointed with on the other two occasions we saw them. They would do good to take note of how Charlie treated his customers, was not at all impressed with them and their blase attitude......

All in all a good holiday and would recommend this hotel and resort to others.

Room Tip: We emailed the hotel direct before we went asking for a high sea view room. We had 439 on the back...

“Really clean, really friendly.”

Just got back from a 2 week stay and had a really comfortable and enjoyable stay.
First impressions of the hotel though are that it is 'tired'. The corridors have had some sort of makeover with faux suede paper on the walls which is not properly stuck down, gives it a shabby feel. Also our bathroom needed a good makeover, some cracked and loose floor tiles
This apart we though we had no further complaints.

We have been coming to Tenerife for many years and have stayed in various locations, this hotel in our opinion, has the best situation, close to the beach and the harbour and the lovely coastal walkway running from El Duque to Los Christianos which is now wheelchair friendly.

Our room was on the 4th floor at the front of the hotel (facing the road) with side sea view. Perfect for us as the balcony had the sun from early morning, lovely to sit out. The beds were very large twins, modern, clean, extremely comfortable. The room was big, light and airy. Plenty of wardrobe space but very little drawer space, but not really a problem. The room and bathroom was thoroughly cleaned every day. I have a' thing' about cockroaches but never saw one.
We found the food to be good with plenty of variety, an amazing selection at breakfast and dinner, with eggs, fish and meat freshly cooked, plus the usual salads, vegetables, pasta etc. There were many German and French guests as well as Brits and all seemed well catered for.
The restaurant staff were very efficient, friendly and helpful and like all staff at this hotel, worked extremely hard.
We look forward to returning later in the year.

Room Tip: If you like the sun in the morning choose from rooms 411 onwards, left out of the lift then a room o...

“Great Hotel”

We have just returned from Torviscas Playa and had a wonderful holiday. Location is excellent but I do agree steps could be a problem for some. We were given a road facing the road which was spotless, but we upgraded to a seaview room after 2 nights, which again was very clean, maybe a little tired. Food was good and plentiful, been in 5star and had worst food. We found the staff very helpful and never saw them being rude to anyone,in fact quitethe opposite, they could not do enough for you. Never saw no cockroachs neither. We will certainly go back.

Room Tip: We stayed on fourth floor which was great

“Clean but so glad not All Inclusive”

We stayed at this hotel during the October half term 2011 and it was booked as a last minute holiday with very little choice available otherwise dont think we would have chosen it.

Location good for us close to beach, resort facilities, bars etc. As there are steps or slopes down to the beach / promenade area may not be great if you have mobility issues. There is aback gate from the pool area open until 10pm which means its only 5 mins to the lovely Adeje promenade / beach. Really liked the prom area and no hastle down there for bar or other promoters. There are a couple of shops / bars out the front of the hotel.

Public areas - pool pleasant enough and no issues with sunbeds around 9am we did have a few overcast days though. One pool warmer than the other. There were pool activities during the day an dthe usual archery etc.
Restaurant - food ok. Good quality but not as much choice as other 4 star Canary hotels we have stayed in but quality very good. Restaurant decor a little dated and service not great.
Public Areas all dated didnt stay in any evenings as seemed to be empty and lacking any sort of atmosphere when we walked through. Hence my comment I would not want to be here on an AI basis. All areas very clean. Small selection of shops and hairderessers.
Rooms - Good size side sea viewvery clean but very dated. We had 2 rooms and asked for 2 interconnecting or neighbouring rooms. Didnt get this the rooms were on the same floor but around a corner and reception said impossible to swap as no empty rooms. I know all say this but they usually do something for you but not here.
To summarise good location, food ok clean but not much else. Prefer Bitacora, Bahia Principe Costa Los Gigantes to this one. Also think this was more expensive than all these but we had no choice.

Room Tip: Ask for side sea view high floor
