“Not 4* but a nice enough complex”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

The food is nice enough, mixed but I would defiantly not say it was of four star standard. I found it v strange to see chips and the like out at breakfast time. If you are planning to be away for the day they offer a decent packed lunch.
The cleanliness of the complex was very high. As was the friendliness of the cleaning and waiting staff.
We stayed in room 175 which was basic and received minimal sun but was good for us as it had a nice wee garden and meant my two year could play in it without fearing to much sun exposure. The shower was very powerful. The hire of the safe key requires a 20 Euro deposit and a further 2 Euro per day charge there after. There were guests who were complaining about their rooms and as it turned out they had rooms located in the basement. It is defiantly worth paying extra to ensure this does not happen to you.
There is a free bus which runs several times per day on most days. On Thursday and Saturday it takes you to the market but does not take you back. This was not a problem for us as we walked back it was only approx half hour walk. We went to entertainment twice, the first time was the Beatle tribute which kids and adults alike thoroughly enjoyed. The second night that we went there was a parrot show. They took two pictures of us then asked for 20 Euro, I said no chance and they said ok 10 Euro for one, so I picked one. My Son really enjoyed the kiddy disco which is on from 8.30 - 9.30. Drinks watered down. They have a nice selection of cocktails.

Room Tip: Beware there are some stunning rooms but there are also some very bad ones located in the basement w...

“Not great at first, but after two weeks did not want to go home!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

When we first pulled up outside Villa Tagoro we were not overly impressed from what we had seen. No large grand enterance, a tacky Chinese resturant next door and a Pizza shop over the road and we were located up in the hills when we were told by the travel agents that we were close to the beach!

However on checking in (at 8pm after travelling all day) the staff were chatty and friendly with several members of staff all able to speak fluently in different languages which was very welcoming. We then got to our room...

The bathroom light was broken, after paying for the safe, it was broken, the door out to the balcony did not lock and we had a view of the car park of the shopping complex below. I immediatly rang recpetion and they could not appologise enough, informed us that if we wanted to go for dinner it would be sorted by the time we got back.

Two hours later (now 10.30pm) we were asked if we wanted to view another room as they had 3 others avalible for us. This second room was much bigger, safer and nicer. Was slightly disappointed that we had 2 single beds when we had asked for a double room but we could cope. We had the room overlooking the evening entertainment stage which was loud but being a young couple we didnt mind too much. And it meant we were very close to the bar! The room was cleaned every day and sheets cleaned every other day, although all we had to do was ring and they would come and change the sheets every day.

The all inclusive drinks do stop at 11pm but we would 'stock-up' as the evening entertainment often continued until midnight and nobody complained that we had so many drinks.

Dispite this slight hic-up to start, we throughtly enjoyed the rest of our time here. It was always spotlessly clean! Yes, THERE IS COCKROACHES... But it is the CANERIES! You will get cockraoches in 5* hotels in hot countries! Although we only saw 3/4 and they were not inside the room.

Food was a little repeatative but tasty and there was plenty of it. Staff were very friendly and often got to know guests on a first name term. The entertainment team where perfect, always went out of their way to make sure we were happy, including having a stash of left-over inflatables for younger children - we made sure to donate ours at the end of the holiday (although I have heard they have changed the staff since our visit, which is sad)

Location wasn't great but reception staff would happily book taxis for you and the hotel have a contract with the local taxi company so they are slightly cheaper and very fast! **Be aware when returning... Taxis with dark blue roofs are simalar to hackney taxis and WILL OVER CHARGE!**

Pool was always clean, as was the area around the pool. You do have to get up early for sunloungers but there is a smaller pool (by the minigolf) where there is always sunloungers free because not many can find that pool!

Over all very happy and have already booked to return!!

“nice holiday... not so good entertainment & staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Our Holiday was nice because it was what we made it and we went out alot into peurto colon or toviscous bay to the nearest bars restaurants, beach, etc, however it was a long walk, we walked it a couple of times but with with having a 5 year old we got a taxi about 4 euro each way most days or about 9 euro into las americas. Some nights in the hotel the entertainment was ok i would say maybe 4 nights out of 14 nights it was ok only when they had proper entertainers on, the hotel entertainers they use are very poor, most days redicolous & very poorly organised, the kids disco was very poor, on for an hour but they dont really try and get the kids involved some nights they just put 2 hula hoops on stage for kids to play with other days maybe do dances for them to copy. The staff at the hotel with access to keys to get into rooms can't be trusted as we had money stolen from our room along with a Nintendo DS and a MP3 player (but the room had not been broken into therefor it was someone with access ie a key as the doors were locked, the doors auto lock behind you so you cant forget to lock the doors!) on arrival we were given the wrong rooms, we booked pool view and ended up with the dark dungeon rooms that get no sun i wasnt too botherd as we dont spend much time in the room but would have liked the one we paid for, apart from that the rooms were cleaned daily and the rooms were nice and spacious. The pool was cleaned daily, but you had to be up early to get a sunbed & a place round the pool. The staff at the pool bar were nice and friendly. The snacks around the pool were cold but there is a microwave there to warm them up. The entertainment around the pool was not very well promoted they had paints and things around the pool for kids, but you only knew it you walked past that way as no one let the children know. The food was repeatative and most days not very warm, the evening menu was slightly better, but we ate out most days even thou we were all inclusive to get a bit of a variety and freshly cooked food. Overall holiday was good, i would go back to adeje again there is some nice bars/restraunts in peurto colon and torviscolous & the weather was nice, but i think a different hotel/complex next time. But overall I enjoyed it just to get away x

My family and I planned just a quiet winter break at Villa Tagoro in January, we have just returned home and we had an amazing time there. The facilities are excellent, the rooms were plain yet very clean, we barely spent any time in the rooms so I don't know why people complain about this, the beds however were very hard, and a few all inclusive drinks was the trick to nod off at night. The food was good on the whole, my wife can be a bit fussy and she struggled a bit but there is normally something for everyone, plus, you learn what to get as the holiday goes on. The staff were all excellent, from reception who were always having a laugh with you, in my case at my expense. I must say that the animation team were absolutely excellent, Olga, Kasia, Julia and Paulo were incredible with my daughter aged 3, so patient and caring, they made her stay here a lot more fun. Also the head of animation was excellent, I just can't remember his name, sorry. There were lots of Germans here who could be very rude indeed, but, this did not spoil our fun. I am happy to recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor for the best view.
