“Excellent Depending on Room Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We stayed here end Jan early Feb 2012. The room was well kept and spacious, with a large settee which doubled as a third bed if required, and a small table and two chairs. There was a tv with lots of English channels. More than enough storage, and nice bathroom with shower over bath. All kept spotlessly clean. Towels were changed every day, pool towels three times in a fortnight, which was fine. There are no electrical sockets in the bedroom, but the one in the bathrom is next to the top that the basin is set into, so it's no problem.
There are three pools, the largest one is heated in winter, and there are different areas for sun bathing on various levels, which prevents a 'crowded' feeling. Although there are steps to consider when going to and from the dining room, they are quite shallow so don't really present a problem. People with walking difficulties could use the lifts. The whole area looked lovely at night when lit up. Evening entertainment was varied, and the waiters lit patio heaters around the tables if you wanted to sit out after the evening meal.
The food was excellent, they did try to vary the choices, everything was well cooked and on a Thursday they do a special 'Canarian' day, the waiters dress up a little, there's Cava at breakfast if you want it, and a traditional musical trio walk around the dining room at the evening meal.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially the dining room staff, who have to put up with some extremely rude people!!!
The only problem with this hotel is that many of the rooms are devoid of sun all day. The ones facing the road get the morning sun, the ones on the back in the main building get the sun all afternoon until it sets, which are the best. The rooms in the block that overlooks the pool don't get any sun at all. Having said that, there are lots of sunbeds to use. We had a lovely holiday and would return.

Room Tip: Sea view room, on a high floor in the main building. Most balconies are covered, we had an open one...

“Nice clean hotel, friendly staff and good food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Bahia Princess. The hotel was clean and tidy. Our room was the same. The staff from house keeping, reception, maintenance, waiting and bar were all very friendly and could not be more helpful. Breakfast and dinner selection was vast with something for everyone. The quality of the food was very good and always well presented.
We will be back again. This year I hope.

Room Tip: The front facing rooms can have some late night noise.

Thomson rate this as 5 star I would say 3 star plus. I went on my own end of January till early Feb to relax and I was able to do that, I am planning to go back.

All of the Staff were the best I have ever seen well trained friendly and seemed happy to help, the entertainment staff where brilliant they pulled everyone together. Day time and evening activities, certificates handed out I won one for dancing it was all a lot of fun.

Food was excellent if a little limited with choice, salad bar was very small on selection the lay out of the self service needs to be changed, a bit of a bun fight to get food. Water 3 euros enough for two people wine selection OK and you can take un-drunk wine back to your room they don't store it for you. Sangria made with Cava is worth a try. Cava is provided at breakfast once a week on a Thursday.

I ended up with a noisy room (situated in a bit of a built up area) the hotel seemed happy to change but I overheard people having to wait a few nights to get a noise free room and as I had unpacked I didn't bother changing but it was difficult to sleep some nights. Safe hire costs 2.5 euros per night frig 4 euros per night towels are provided and changed once a week if staying two weeks, there is a charge if you need to change before that. Sun beds don't go totally flat so lying on tummy is difficult my front is a lot browner than back you can go to the beach but they charge 6 euros a day for their beds. Night time entertainment is variable but worth a look happy hour 8 till 9 in Princess bar cocktails are fabulous.

There are a lot of steps and quite steep but there are lifts that can be used. Bottom pool is heated others are very cold. No tea making in room 1.7 euros for pot of tea but might want to take own bags as their tea is fairly weak.

Overall I would say good value for money suitable for couples, families and singles.

Room Tip: Ask for top floor room overlooking pool

Lovely Hotel, Excellant Service Very clean and tidy and helpfull staff, Dont let the steps down to the Restauraunt and pool put you off as there are lifts ether side for those who can't manage them. Food was very good but if you hit the Restauraunt at the peak times it gets very hectic and can get very pushy and shovey. Entertainment is very good. Just a couple of things we stayed in a room at the front of the hotel and it is very noisy from the traffic and the Taxi rank which is just off to the side of the hotel on the main road. Also there is a bar to the side of the Hotel called the la cabana its open 24hours service is good and up to 9pm you can get a beer for 1 euro the same in the all the bars in the street, La cabana has a singer called Gerry who sings every night and is excellent if you like Frank Sinartra and various other singers from the same era and guess what if your at the front of the hotel you can sit and listen to him from 9pm - 12am every night i Know Mr Bojangles off by Heart now.
A couple of gripes you can't use the fridge in the room unless you pay for it 30 Euros for the week which i found extremely mean also if you want clean towels for the pool the first ones are free and subsequent changes are 1.20 euros each! the safe will also cost you about 25 euro for the week. Also for any Smokers out there there is no smoking on your room Balconys only designated areas in the Hotel. All in all the Hotel is very good and well positioned to get around and there's plenty to see and do and its only a short strole to Playa de las Americas about half an hour along the coastal path If you go to Fanabe after 5pm call in at the little Belgium bar half way down the main path just up some steps, it's called Cafe Steps and its run by Sabine and Leon, Its a great Bar and the're a lovely couple. Have a great Holiday . We did.

Room Tip: ask for a room at the rear of the Hotel

“Wonderful hotel with magnificent Grecian-style architecture”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We stayed at this hotel for a week after completing a cruise on the Thomson Destiny. This hotel is visually stunning, particularly from the swimming pool area, having Grecian style architecture complete with Corinthian columns. We had a lovely room (with a bath!!) which seemed all the larger after spending a week in a small cabin on the boat. It was kept immaculately clean by the chambermaid who worked extremely hard. The flooring in the public areas is predominantly marble with tastefully decorated tiles. The food was very good, not quite to the standard of the cruise but there was adequate choice and it was well cooked. Lots of fresh fruit, the oranges were particularly delicious! I used the pool on several occsions. This was scrupulously cleaned on a daily basis and it was a good size so you could have a decent swim. There are 52 steps from the pool area to the piano bar. It's good to run or walk up these on a regular basis to keep those holiday pounds off. We saw just two of the evening shows but I believe they were all to a high standard, especially the Charlie Chaplin act.

On a more general note - beware of young men from beachfront shops trying to sell you camcorders and other electronic equipment. If you google Tenerife Camcorder Scams you will find a lot of people have been taken in by offers which really were too good to be true. I believe these people operate all over Europe so this warning doesn't apply to just Tenerife. Also do shop around for your excursions. Thomson do a magnificent job with their tours but they overcharge. We did trips up to Mount Teide, La Gomera and on a catamaran and paid half what Thomson were quoting.

I can recommend this hotel/holiday to anyone. Our children have all flown the nest but I could see it was ideal for families. Young children are catered for food and entertainment wise.

Room Tip: Our room was on the same level as the restaurant and pool. Despite this it was very quiet. I expec...
