Having read previous reviews on this and other sites we had a good idea of what to expect from this hotel.
As previous reviewers have noted, this hotel is located in the incredibly picturesque Mosern rather than Seefeld which is a ten minute bus ride away.
Its impressive location atop a hill in Mosern gives fifty percent of the bedrooms an unparalleled view of the surrounding mountains and it is difficult to see why anyone would book a non-mountain facing room as the price difference is so slight. When we booked this room we had requested an Alpine view room and we weren't disapointed.
Our initial greeting after a quick but very expensive taxi ride, couldnt have been any more cordial and as previous reviewers have noted there is a really family feel to the hotel. Our room was a decent size with the usual on-suite and a balcony overlooking the mountains. I cannot state enough times how impressive this view is and I certainly found waking up to mountains peaking through the clouds, seemingly just outside our room, never got old!
The decor in the rooms was in keeping with the alpine theme so dont go expecting modern fixtures and fittings.
Breakfast-included in the price, was hearty and included cereals, yogurts, meats, cheeses and some tomatoes. It didn't really change from day to day but that was fine. Unfortunately we would agree with a previous review which mentioned the poor quality of the coffee!
All in all a good hotel, and enjoyable stay for the price, it doesn't really need modernising, but it does require a bit of DIY - for example the shower in our room was broken, and a quick fix would have made life better.
The hotel has suggestions for local restaurants, and up to date menus for some of them, word of warning on the Alt-Mosern directly below the hotel however, as we experienced very variable service - excellent one night, and shockingly poor another! (The food is fine though) An unlisted but very enjoyable restaurant was the Rebhaus, on Brochweg, just up the hill. They speak no english, and it seems to patronised by locals rather than tourists but very welcoming, and great food.
Busses to Seefeld are regular, and you can get a sticker for your guestcard for 10 euros that allows you to travel in the area for the entire stay at no charge - handy to not have to keep finding change!
