Freninger Family,

We would like to thank you for making our stay in Mosern/Seefeld so great.

Thanks for your kindness, your will to help us and for your good tips.

Your hotel is very pleasant and has a good atmosphere.

It is very clean and breakfast is amazing!

Especially, we want to thank you very much for the surprise on my moms 60th birthday... It was the best !

Hope to see you in Israel,

Asulin Family

“Sigh-- Way Beyond My Already High Expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2010

I visited Austria for a few days mainly to see Salzburg. I heard Tyrol was great, and I wanted to see more of the Alps. So, I first came to TripAdvisor and looked at the options in Seefeld. My budget was fairly tight, and for that reason, I was prompted to look at the neighboring villages. Wow, am I happy that I did! I don't usually write reviews, but I feel like I owe it to other viewers and the kind staff at this guesthouse.

After a long year in university, I primarily wanted a few days to relax and enjoy beautiful scenery. Salzburg was fine, but I am so glad that I ended up in Mosern. The price of my single room at Ferienhotel Mosererhof was almost equivalent to what I paid for a dorm-like hostel in Salzburg; Ferienhotel Mosererhof even served a great breakfast! I found Seefeld to be a fine touristy town. The air had an amazing mountain-freshness about it which I did not even believed existed before that experience. However, I found Mosern to be the best place for me after all. Sure, it still has a number of hotels and is a little "touristy," but it's not crowed with shops like Seefeld. Plus, as a single girl traveling alone, I still very felt safe.

All over the area there are great hiking trails that were quiet in the summer, but again, when I was there, I still saw enough passers-by to give me sense of security. Near the hotel there is a nice lake. Initially, when I reserved the room, I was sure that the photos I saw advertising the hotel were stock photos, but the views are absolutely picturesque, and I would go all over again in order to just sit and look out the window.

You can take the train to Seefeld, but Mosern is a couple of kilometers away from the station. I emailed the staff (VERY FRIENDLY!) about this before arriving and they quickly responded to my concern, assuring me that taxis (about 12 Euro) and buses (until 6pm) run from the station to the hotel. The bus worked fine for me, and later I found that it was even a nice walk between Mosern and Seefeld when luggage wasn't an issue.

I definitely would like to return again one day.

“Wonderful Alpine Views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2010

If you stay here make sure you get a view of the mountains and valleys. The hotel shows a bit of wear but nothing that detracts from the overall fine Tyrolean experience. The hosts/owners are extremely friendly and willing to help out with directions or anything else that will make you stay there pleasant. It is only a short 5 minute drive to Seefeld for access to all the restaurants one could want. We used this hotel as a base to visit the usual Bavarian sights just a short drive across the border.

“If it aint broke don't fix it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2008

Having read previous reviews on this and other sites we had a good idea of what to expect from this hotel.
As previous reviewers have noted, this hotel is located in the incredibly picturesque Mosern rather than Seefeld which is a ten minute bus ride away.
Its impressive location atop a hill in Mosern gives fifty percent of the bedrooms an unparalleled view of the surrounding mountains and it is difficult to see why anyone would book a non-mountain facing room as the price difference is so slight. When we booked this room we had requested an Alpine view room and we weren't disapointed.
Our initial greeting after a quick but very expensive taxi ride, couldnt have been any more cordial and as previous reviewers have noted there is a really family feel to the hotel. Our room was a decent size with the usual on-suite and a balcony overlooking the mountains. I cannot state enough times how impressive this view is and I certainly found waking up to mountains peaking through the clouds, seemingly just outside our room, never got old!
The decor in the rooms was in keeping with the alpine theme so dont go expecting modern fixtures and fittings.
Breakfast-included in the price, was hearty and included cereals, yogurts, meats, cheeses and some tomatoes. It didn't really change from day to day but that was fine. Unfortunately we would agree with a previous review which mentioned the poor quality of the coffee!
All in all a good hotel, and enjoyable stay for the price, it doesn't really need modernising, but it does require a bit of DIY - for example the shower in our room was broken, and a quick fix would have made life better.
The hotel has suggestions for local restaurants, and up to date menus for some of them, word of warning on the Alt-Mosern directly below the hotel however, as we experienced very variable service - excellent one night, and shockingly poor another! (The food is fine though) An unlisted but very enjoyable restaurant was the Rebhaus, on Brochweg, just up the hill. They speak no english, and it seems to patronised by locals rather than tourists but very welcoming, and great food.
Busses to Seefeld are regular, and you can get a sticker for your guestcard for 10 euros that allows you to travel in the area for the entire stay at no charge - handy to not have to keep finding change!

  • Liked — stunning views from rooms, very friendly
  • Disliked — the coffee! Minor repairs needed
