“Close to the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2011

Good hotel with bar, breakfast room with buffet, wonderful staff, nice pool but best of all just a short walk to the beach. I especially liked having a balcony off my room and the front desk person actually drove me to the airport on her way home. This hotel particularly caters to German tourists however so all the tours are offered in German. But as an American I was very happy to be there.

“Nice Hotel for a Low Price”

The hotel was clean and nice. Not the best hotel i've stayed, bt quality compared to the price was good. The staff was friedly but spoke English poorly. The pool was nice, too. The best part was the breakfast, which was so generous, that we didn't have to eat out before the afternoon. As a tip, ask for the WiFi from the bar. There is one and it's free, but it's informated nowhere!

“Solid middle class hotel! Can recommend!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2011

We have stayed at the Oleander a couple of days ago. It is a clean and solid middle class hotel. The staff is very friendly (also to my 3 1/2 year old son who can be overly active at times). We only had breakfast at the hotel. The buffet was very large and there was breakfast for every taste. The pool area as well as the pools are very clean. So are the rooms and furnished OK for the rate they charge (a bit spartanic). Since I didn't like Mallorca I will not go back there. But I would recommend Hotel Oleander anytime!

“The Oleander revisited”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 March 2011

As I stated in my previous review "I'll be back", and so I/we did. This time just for a 4 day getaway.

And for better or for worse, it was very much the same. Which was quite all right by us. I remember coming back to the Leo (down the street) thinking never again...

Maybe the Oleander was a little more worn than last time so maybe they should start planning a major refurnishing plan for the whole hotel...

Since May isn't the most busy month, it was even more quiet than our last visit. The staff helpful and kind, we felt right at home.

So, I might just as well just repeat my last review, you'll find the details there folks.

BTW - the Mojito was if possible even better this time!

“A Detailed review of a beach holiday”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

Location: the location of the hotel is slightly hidden away (just behind) from the main beach strip however this may not be such a bad thing as the beach front/strip can get loud during the night preventing any sleep. The hotel is about 100meters away and a 5min walk, honestly about 100 steps.

We opted for the half board meal plan which meant breakfast and dinner. The dinner and breakfast was a all you can eat buffet type. The breakfast was a selection of a fry up down to cereal, fresh fruit and cheeses etc.
The dinner was amazing considering we are very picky eaters. A very good and wide selection of food down to prawns, mussels, veal, rabbit, fish and the chicken and pork etc. However not included in the dinner is drinks which will set you back €1.90 for a soft drink which is all you will have to pay but morning juices are free. The desserts is especially good and a must have.they had fresh cream cakes, ice cream, fresh fruits, jelly etc

The hotel has a bar which is open throughout the day wish is next to the pool and night time entertainment next to the pool side in which if you are lucky enough your balcony may over look the pool and stage. On the other hand the music may not stop until late (1am).
The pool is a very decent size compared to the others around, it consists of a large pool and a childens baby pool. However it slightly lacks fun. E.g no slide just a water fountain. Next to the pool is a table tennis table and pool table.

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly, they speak very good english. Like many hotels the hotel offered guests to purchase attrations for example to aquapark etc however we found that just outside the walk to the beach was an independent attraction seller who would give us further discounts which we would reccomend. however searching around for the best price was always done first. The hotel offered wifi, i believe it was free as many was using it downstairs. i was unable to obtain a signel even though i was on the first floor just above the router.

The Room: The room was a decent size for us two. NOTE that a 3* hotel in the UK or Paris is not a 3* hotel in spain (majorca) unaware i assumed this. In the room was two SINGLE beds joined to make ONE Double (as in their picture) very basic and simple nothing fancy. There is a wardorbe which contains a safe (key) however not mentioned it cost 1.50Euro a day to use the safe! additional there is no fridge/cooler or kettle! which i assumed all 3* would have have.

The Bathroom: The bathroom was clean however no bath soap was provided like other 3* hotels in london or paris that i have been to. The bath tub is small to medium, it did fit myself and my partner in ( 5'9 & 5-6 medium build) but not the most comfortablest. Finally the water pressure was not very good, very weak and if someone i assume nextdoor would use the hot water you would have to re-adjust.

The hotel in general was good value for money. Walls can be thin and you can hear the general snooring or naughty naughty from the next room however this hotel is more for the younger not so worried about luxary nor is it a budget hotel!

I have been very detailed to give a real sense of the hotel, Please contact me for any further questions if i have not mentioned. apologies for no picture however the online ones demonstrates what they have very accuratly.
