wen we arrived at the hotel it was 3 40 in the morning .at 9.30 the cleaner was knocking on the door to clean the room , we looked for a information book on the resort but there wasnt one in english ....they never catered for the english in anyway whats so ever ,i think it should state we do not entertain english just gemans and french the food was the worse i ever seen the staff were ignorant ,the was only 1 bar staff that took the time to speak to us and he was lovely .....we are just so happy the weather was great ...We found an english place to eat called cafe rene just round the corner from the hotel there from hull and very friendly people,, on the sea front theres 2 more english bars as well we found them on out last day but the food was english n yummy ,,we also took a bus ride to los arenal and found a bar called the sportsman also english and footy mad run by scousers we went there most nights ,think we would have gone mad had we not found these palces,, i would give that part of majorca a miss if id have known just how german it was ,,and also theres a market on a thursday in arenal which is big and worth a look

“Dont expect to much”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2005

Like most of the hotels in playa de palma this hotel seems to be straight out of the 70s, from the outside it looks ok,oh if you rent a car, which youre going to want to do after one trip on the overcrowded buses if your lucky enough to have one stop for you, theres only a few parking spaces at the front of the hotel. If your thinking its 70s retro cool its not. Everything is old and i doubt that it has ever been refurnished, wee where given a room on the gound floor but didnt want it which the front desk guy handled well giving us one on the top floor, room was small bed was hard which i like and was ok, bathroom ok they have baths, which is handy because you would get better water pressure from a water pistol, rooms cleaned daily and towels swapped. The food is very average i would say it is of the same standard as a universiy hostel. But in saying that i was expecting worse, whatever tiny budget the chef is working with she is doing the best she could.Food was repeditive after 2 days, only spanish dish we saw was a paella which was done once in the week we where there.Wait staff where ok not really that much interaction on buffets so....although the chef was very friendly and will talk to you.
The hotel is in a nice quite area with local apartments around it, only 200m from the beach.Mostly german resaraunts in area, but there are spanish ones if you look hard enough. We got woken only once by drunk yobbos from the hotel so were pleased with location.
After reading the other 2 reviews of this hotel we almost cancelled, but gladly we didnt and were pleasntly surprised, although it probably dosnt sound like it from the review. But we paid 240 euro pp for flights from hamburg and a week at half board. Im not sure what the other 2 reviewees (right word?) paid but we thought it was great for the price.

One thing i will say is that if you dont speak german you probably dont want to stay here as the staff mostly talk spanish and german with bad english and most of the other guests are germans.
P.S the diving here is AVERAGE at best even in the marine reserve.

“Give it a miss”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 March 2004

Hotel was quite run down. In our opinion it was more of a 1 star hotel.
The furniture was in need of restoration, one of the armchairs in the
bed room had two large cuts in the leather on the seating. The curtain
had a 3" -4" cut along the heavy liner which was gaping. The satellite
television which was in every room was extra. The waiter in the bar did
not serve you very quickly and often did not know how to make up the
drinks requested. Food was repetitive and was not of a good standard
(not unless you want to eat pasta for the duration of your stay) and
there was no local food on offer. NOT EVEN ENSIMADA. We were also
unable to obtain toast in the morning, as the hotel did not have a
toaster. Although the area was relatively quiet, the irony was that the
state own 3 star hotel nearby. Looked every bit a 3star hotel. So why
have a hotel with 3stars on a hotel which looks a poor imitation for a
1 star. The area and the hotel itself seemed to cater for German and
Dutch guests rather than all nationalities. Even the Spainards from
mainland spain found it difficult to find spanish Cusine!

Hotel food unedible and repetitive. Furnishings very poor, old and antiquated. Mostly German occupants. Locals converse in German irrespective of nationality.

Area very quiet, particularly at night with mostly clubs being "table dancing".
