“Nothing special!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2009

Stayed here one night. I'd probably go insane if I stayed here a week in hotel and resort.
The pool was revolting, staff never smiled or said thank you, room was clean but looked like something from the 60s, full of Germans but then so was the whole resort which I found was dated too. The TV in the room had about 15 channels but they were all in Spanish or German and the TV in the bar was German football matches. The beach was nice and clean but all the shops were extremely tacky and all resturants sold German food. Hotel was close to the the beach. We caught the bus to Palma a couple of times and unlike on the hotel site it says 15 mins bus ride it was more like 40 mins and it was like being on the London underground scrambling for a seat.
If you are English do not stay in this hotel or resort but I guess the Germans would love it.

“cheap getaway”

After reading other reviews I wasnt expecting too much from this Hotel. Had read comments about mouldy/smelly carpets and dirty rooms. Cleanliness wise was spot on, only comment would be cleaners are a bit over eager in a morning!! Hotel has pools front and rear and decent sunbathing areas, but I should imaglne these would be very crowded in high season. Didnt use pools as it was bloomin freezing (I wasnt expecting el scorchio in February, but temps of 50f were a little dissapointing). Hotel was full of Germans, which can be off putting to some, but as I can speak decent German wasnt too bad, very humerous when some Germans demanded I moved tables and I suggested they moved elsewhere in their own language :) Food was basic, but not too bad. For extra £15 ( total) I paid for 5nts half board cant really complain and they do have a toaster and serve an English type brekkie on occasions.
Happy hour (2hrs) was good value as surrounding pubs were mainly German and dearer. whole resort is very german orientated, but Can Pastilla appx 3km stoll down beach has a few Irish/English pubs and worth a visit.
Beach is excellent, nice walks along coast Palma appx 13km, ideall spot for cycling. Overall holiday was superb value for money, hotel is a good base, probably wouldnt recommend for a young family, but ideal for couples, walkers, cyclists etc.

  • Liked — the cost!!! and happy hour and near to beach
  • Disliked — so long as your not expecting the ritz or all singing/dancing ,every thing was fine

If you're looking for a clean hotel you will be ok here but you don't want to live with Germans stay away from this hotel and resort. We were the only english staying in the hotel and only met a handful of english people in the whole resort. The staff are not over friendly and the other guests were anything but !!

“somewhere to use has a base”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2008

We booked the cactus after a very long night on an airport bench has no accomodation was available when we arrived in the early hours. We booked 2 nights indpendently through one of the airport accomodation desks. The room was adequate although a bit depressing, but to use as a base it was ok. The food was terrible i have never had so many bread rolls to fill myself up, it was very german orientated especially the food. Good location though quiet at night but a short walk to the beach really good. Never met any other british in this hotel or the resort only germans.
