“Good Chill close to the beach”

Stayed there for a week in february for a good price. Close to the airport (10 min taxi ride) and close to beach, shop, restaurants and bars.
The place had 2 bedrooms, a living room with kitchen (microwave, cooker, toaster, kettle, fridge, cutlery). The outside had a little pateo and the 19 blocks face the swimming pool (To cold for feb though, same as for the beach we thought). Clean and friendly staff, they can help you with bike/car rental, just down the street. For the restaurants, there is a nice stretch with a few good places 5/10 min walk from the appartment, on the left of the beach.
The last one before the chinese does a great Paella/sangria :) the one next door had great fish.
You can find others walking towards the center of town along the seaside, but I wouldn't recommend the ones next to the spar restaurant down the road.
the airport is close but you cannot really hear the planes.
otherwise, a car would be essential to see the island, well worth it.
Also if you have one, there is a beautiful one south of the island, called papagayo.

“Quiet Location Restful Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 February 2011

Just returned from a week at these apartments I was a bit apprehensive as they were so inexpensive and I was afraid they might be old and dirty but I was well pleased with what we got. They were very clean and so quiet most of our neighbours were from Norway and were long term renters (I envy them - I didn't want to come home either) and they were so nice and one couple came over and introduced themselves as we sat outside on our patio having a cup of coffee. We rented a car for the week but only used it during the day as we enjoyed a few drinks with our meal out at night but there were a good selection of restaurants nearby so walked to these. Now for a few down points if they matter to you (1) The pool was not heated and nobody seemed to use it and I noticed some debris at the bottom of it. 2. Only twin beds no double from what I saw. 3. A bin lorry collected a dustbin outside our bedroom window every morning around 6.30 and woke me every morning - the only downside that affected me. Would I go back again I would if I was on a budget but maybe look for a few more luxuries if I could afford it.

“perfect stay”

Choose to stay at the bandama bungalows after reading the reviews on trip. We travelled from our local airport, bournemouth, which was only 10 mins from where we live, on arriving at the airport we picked up our hire car, put on our sat nav, put in the location, and were taken straight there, only about 10 mins, just had a little trouble getting out of the airport. Our flight had been slightly delayed but the receptionist had been monitoring our arrival on line and knew we were delayed. We arrived at about 7pm but asked and were directed to the local restaurants, 4 mins by car or a brisk walk of about 15 mins. When we booked our stay on line, we choose to have an appartment, which was slightly cheaper, but on arrival we were shown to a bungalow, dont know if this was an upgrade, because we did not see any appartments on the site. the bungalows are great sited around a poole, not heated, very quiet, and in an enclosed site, the receptionist is there from 10 until 1pm then the gate is locked, making it very safe. There is a short walk down to the local spar, which has everything, and out the otherside to the beach. The best way to see the island is by hire car, the parking for the bungalows is right outside and plenty of space. I dont think I could recommend this complex any higher. great great stay.

“Clean, quiet, friendly - ideal for a relaxing break by the pool.”

We returned on 30th September after having stayed here for 11 nights in a Superior bungalow (although from the outside they all appeared the same). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The complex is very quiet but we wanted a relaxing poolside holiday and so it was exactly what we wanted. If you've got kids though, the only facility for them is the kid's pool. The owners are very flexible as far as the number of nights you'd like to stay is concerned (whilst we were there someone stayed just for 1 night, but we also heard of a couple having stayed there for 6 months). The spotless complex consists of just 19 bungalows and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The (freshwater) pool seemed to be cleaned every day. As always, it was cold when you first got in, but was fine after you'd been in there for just a short time. On arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find that - because we'd booked a Superior, we were entitled to a fresh baguette each for every day of our stay (we used them as part of our lunchtime snack). In addition (also because we'd booked a Superior) we were entitled to free use of the safe in our bungalow for the entire length of our stay (normally charged at 2 euros a day). We explored the local bars and restaurants and here are just a few bullet points:-
- "Temple Bar" advertises a Happy Hour between 8pm and 10pm. Be careful, it isn't a case of half price drinks, just slightly reduced ones.
- We thought that the best English breakfast we had was actually in a Scottish bar called "Dreamers". Very clean and everything was always served hot and fresh.
- "Mucky Duck II" is a good bar with reasonably priced Guinness and all live sports.
- "Kislane" is an Irish owned restaurant that serves absolutely excellent food. Some will find it expensive, but you get what you pay for and it was some of the best food we've had on holiday anywhere (keep the sea on your right, keep walking past the line of bars and restaurants and you'll eventually come to it).
All in all, we thought that the holiday was good value for money and will stay here again.

“Superb stay and will be coming back!”

Stayed here for 6 nights in september after booking via tripadvisor on the strength of reviews.
We where not dissapointed from arrivial to the very end of our stay.

We found the small complex clean and very tidy, quiet and busy enough to say hello to fellow holiday makers. The pool is freshwater and well looked after, fantastic for cooling off in.

Most days we ventured over to Playa Chica for the excellent snorkling there. This was sadly a long walk. There are many beaches just five minutes away from the bungalows which are grea tfor sunbathing and swimming, not so good for snorkling.

There is a SPA supermarket just round the corner on the main strip, along with a couple of resturants / pubs. Well out of ear shot though and we had good nights sleep, every night even with the windows open.

The staff where really really fantastic, very helpful at every moment. The cleaning lady we met (came round 2/3 times in the 5 day holiday) was especially lovely and even waited behind to let us collect our bags on the last day.
Unfortunatly we had to check out to room at 12, and our flight wasnt until later.
