We had a bad start, the luggage was severely damaged before take off spent 2 hrs at Lanzarote airport sorting it out with Ryan Air !
Arrived at Las Gaviotas, the superior bungalow we had booked wasn't available due to a water problem. we were put in Block 7 room 6 not a good room, the door wouldn't open easily and it was very shabby inside, we were give two free meals as compensation for the downgraded room, next day we moved to block2 room 20. not a good position if you like the sun as there is a large tree in the garden, we requested to be moved and the next day we were given one in a much better position. The girls and young man in reception were lovely and very helpful which was nice.
We were pleased we had chosen a superior bungalow as it had a very comfy sofa, flat screen TV with Sky News, Disney channel and some movie channels in English, the A/C/heating unit was over the bedroom door, so on very cold nights which were many the living room was quite cold, my only criticism is that we would have liked a heater , we did ask the manager but were refused and told to leave the bedroom door open for the heat to warm the living areas.we should have taken heavier sweaters, we didn't anticipate it being so cold. which after the sun went down or on cloudy days there was a very cold wind,
That is only a minor problem, we loved the Gaviotas and will definitely stay there again, it was convenient for shops restaurants etc in the shopping centre, very close to the lovely flat seafront which was traffic free (apart from Cyclists) we walked to Playa Honda, Arrecife and Puerto Carmen, thr bus stop was a short walk away, we bought a bono card for 20 euros and travelled to Playa Blanca twice, Costa Teguise, and Arrecife etc. It was a very relaxing holiday in a peaceful location. We love the whole island it was our first time there after many years going to the north in Tenerife every January we were very impressed with everything
