Comfortable rooms in a nice garden. Clean pool area, very friendly staff - they even clean your dishes. Walking distance to an endless number of restaurants and pubs. The only drawback was the cigarette smell in the room.

we stayed here for new years in a 2 bed apartment with 2 kids. the receptionist Thomas was the friendliest person we met in Porto Del Carman, He was exceptionally nice and welcoming. the aparments are kept clean daily. the kids entertainment is only 2 hours a day and its not a sign in/out service so you have to stay at the pool beside the kids - unusual. the 2 bedroom apartment didn't have pool access and was up steps with a balcony so not ideal for a 3 year old boy! the italian restaurant at the gate is very good food even if it is more expencive then most places in the resort. the location is fine but a bit of a walk to a sandy beach (the beach in front is rock and stone).

Stayed at Barcarola for a week that took in Christmas,step over the threshhold from the main road into the complex and what a difference from busy to quiet,couldn't fault the apartment ,large bright rooms big balcony.The rooms were cleaned daily and the bed was very comfortable,could have done with more hangers in the wardrobe if i'm being picky.Bathroom was roomy and the shower was great.Anyone with excess energy was nor
mally hoovered up by young entertainments guy to participate in pool , table tennis , darts etc.The swimming pool area is large with plenty of sun loungers and a small pool for the kids,there is also another swimming pool at the rear of the complex which is a lot quieter if that is your preference,plenty of these open areas are shaded by trees,there is an area just off from the main pool for snacks and drinks which is not too pricey.There is no need to run out of reading material as there is an extensive library in the reception area.There is all you need to keep you occupied on the main strip from shops restaurants and bars and of course a large sandy beach,this place has all you need for a good time and i would return.

Barcarola was a lovely place to stay. It is suitated off the main road beside the beach however, you can not hear any street noises when in the complex. The rooms are quiet, bright, airy, cleaned daily & the beds were comfortable. Good shower and plenty of hot water. The staff are very friendly and helpfull, there is even an enterainments officer to occupy all ages during the day playing for example, chess, darts, pool, drawing, painting to name but a few. The swimming pool area was kept spotless with plenty of sun loungers for everyone. There are mature trees around giving shade during the hotter parts of the day. Food is available at the complex with lovely areas to sit out for lunch or drinks in the afternoon. There is a supermarket, taxis, restaurants & bars all within 5mins walk. No hills which was great for my over 70s mother. Suitable for all ages. I would go back again.
