“villa drago & villa tulipan puerto del carmen with James Villa's”

We have holiday'd in Lanzarote for the last 9-10years,staying mainly at hotels but for the last few years we have used villa's as named above with James Villas and have found the service excellent the villas were very central & clean and tidy with lovely pools. We could never go back to staying at hotels, it's so nice not having Reps around and having your own pool and sun lounger no getting up at 6am to get one. you are contacted on your arrival day by an english speaking contact who checks everything is satisfactory and their telephone number is on the pinboard for you if there are any problems we had to ring once as the pool needed cleaning and it was being cleaned within the hour so they are very prompt in helping if anything should arrise that needs thier attention!!!!! we had a fabulous holiday on both occasions as did my sister, friend, nephews and niece on our last holiday. we will be going back to lanzarote later this year and would highly recommend either villa as they are in a convienient location to get to everything but still the area is quiet even though your not far from the centre of town. we also reccommend James villas very highly the service is excellent......

When i stayed at a bocaina villa the first day wasn't great we were told we were in villa 24 we then had some people come and tell us we are in the wrong villa so we had to pack up all our stuff and move to villa 4 but villa 4 was much better it had a dishwasher, washing machine, dvd player, and was much more modern than 24. They Pool was cold but the kids had fun in it they wouldn't stay in there to long because it was so cold. It is deep. the service was poor they cleaned the pool a couple of times but the cleaner only came once and we stayed there for 2 weeks. the beach is quite a long walkl from the villa's its hard if you have shopping because you have to walk up hill. There are nice restaurants. weather is boiling was round about 36 degrees when we went. The beach is black sand volcano sand. If there are people next door you can easily hear them the walls are not sound proof! enjoy your stay.

“Fun in the sun”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2008

We booked a villa as there was a group of us going and we wanted to stay together. Before going we did alot of research about location and what we should expect, we were happy with the thoughts that we would have our own pool and pool side barbeque.
The villa itself was nice, typical canarian style furnishings,it was clean and well presented. The pool was heated and very refreshing, towels and sun loungers were provided. Barbeque wasnt quite what we had expected but we did'nt cook at all as food over ther is very reasonably priced.
Location is good, its about a 10minute walk to the main strip with all the restaurants, bars and clubs. Close to the villas is a shop that has almost everything including freshly baked bread throughout the day and there is a pub in close proximity that does good bar food for lunch etc.

“Perfect!”

Stayed at the Anita in Villa Bocaina. Really spacious villa and the pool was heated - lovely! Approx 10 min (max) walk to the main front at Puerto del Carmen. If you cross the gravel hill opposite the apartments there is a brilliant Italian restaurant and good value on the right, also flatter walk to the main front. The villa was perfect as we took my parents and our teenage son and his friend - they loved it and it wasn't far for them to go to the clubs etc (6 of us in total). Would def go there again! Might not be suitable for people with young children, using a pushchair on the hill up to the villa from the front could be hard work and the pool doesn't have a shallow end. Great holiday!

“Overall,an enjoyable stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2007

We have just come back from staying for one week at villa no2, booked through James Villas.
A few draw backs were - no airconditioning, although you can hire a free standing unit for 50 euros for one week, there is a list (on the wall in the villa) of other items you can hire at a cost and I presume they are delivered to you.
Also - there was only one plug socket at work top level in the kitchen - bit of a nuisance when you wanted to use the kettle and the toaster!
When we arrived we thought our pool looked a bit unclean and cloudy, but thought it would be okay, however it just got worse and after two days we had to call someone out to fix it. Two men arrived very promptly after our call and 'fixed' it. They actually had to come back two more times for other problems with it. Seems a coincidence that our daughter has suddenly got a nasty cough.
BEWARE - tiles round the pool are very, very slippy.
Bedooms are fairly small, but have plenty of storage space. There is sky tv except hardly any channels work.
Villas are in a very quiet area of the town but within easy walking distance of supermarkets and the main streets. Plenty of choice of good restaurants - we particularly enjoyed the Dolce Vita restaurant.
You must try to go on the trip to Timanfaya National park! Very interesting!
Overall we enjoyed our holiday in Lanzarote and would go back, maybe not to the bocaina villas!
