Apartment - The apartment was basic and in need of a re-vamp, small bedroom which had 2 single beds, very comfy. The Bathroom was very small, had a overhead shower, the shower curtain smelt damp and the bath was off colour inside it. Hot water was only enough for 1 person then it goes freezing cold. The inside locks were useless, loose and old. The front door had been hung very badly as there was a massive gap where the cold and wind was entering. i was very concerned about the break ins that have been happening over the last year or so, even though this has happened on numerous occassions, there didnt appear to be any security camera's (which you would think they would of installed to get people coming or/and returning?). just make sure you take your belongings with you when you go out, and baracade your doors at night with the table etc. we didnt expereince any break-ins, nor did we hear of any, but i would not return due to having to be on guard throughout my holiday hear as you are supposed to be relaxing on holiday, not worring.
Pool Area - We never once went in the pool, the only reason why i booked this place was due the "heated" pool which was advertised. well it wasnt, i asked the guy in the pool bar and he didnt know, great answer i thought!.
The sunbeds were knackered, filthy and broken. the pool area was nice, its just a shame the rest of it was a let down.It was advertised on Hotels4u as 3 star.. i have been in many 3 starts and this was not one. it was more like a 2 star.
The positive side to these apartments is they are in a good location, 5-7 mins walk to the main strip, not 20 mins like previous people have said on here. and that they are a good place to lay your head, but sorry that is about it.
these apartments are not good in my opinion for children as the pools are very deep nor overally clean.
Puerto Del Carmen itself is lovely, this is my 2nd visit here. the main strip is very long, with numerous bars, resturants and shops. some places are expensive to eat, our favorite was Cantina resturant, thier breakfasts are the best on the strip, for 2.50 Euros you got, sausage, bacon, chips, toast, beans, egg, tea and orange juice.
also the best place for pizzas too.
we had a lovely couple of meals in the Galleon Inn. good price and english run.
their is a lilttle complex with a nightclub night life atmosphere, we only went to 3 off the bars their, one was a gay bar called punto's this was fun, with lots of spanish gay men who were very friendly along with Drag shows too ( you dont have to be gay to enjoy this!)
the other bar (where we only visited the once) and was our last called the Big Apple, a man dragged us in their from the front and told us we would get 2 "decent " cocktails along with a shot each for 7 euros, never again, we got there, had 2 cocktails which tasted of milk only, no free shot, and they would not give us our change back until we had to ask for it twice!.. avoid this place unless you love being ripped off!.
our favourite place was Attomic revelution, Danny who runs it, is a star. not only did he give us a free cocktail jug because it was my partners birthday he kept giving us free shots all night too!.. thier cocktails were 2 for 7 euros, and they were lush!, he used proper alcohol like smirnoff v, tia maria and baileys. and he always made to much in his mixer, so when we finshed our drink, he would top it up for free. this place is defo recommmed for a good night with a great DJ who constantly asks you for music requests old or new!.
overall, holiday was ok, would defo return to puerto del carmen, but with a different hotel.
