“Los Tulipanes Apartments.”

Apartment - The apartment was basic and in need of a re-vamp, small bedroom which had 2 single beds, very comfy. The Bathroom was very small, had a overhead shower, the shower curtain smelt damp and the bath was off colour inside it. Hot water was only enough for 1 person then it goes freezing cold. The inside locks were useless, loose and old. The front door had been hung very badly as there was a massive gap where the cold and wind was entering. i was very concerned about the break ins that have been happening over the last year or so, even though this has happened on numerous occassions, there didnt appear to be any security camera's (which you would think they would of installed to get people coming or/and returning?). just make sure you take your belongings with you when you go out, and baracade your doors at night with the table etc. we didnt expereince any break-ins, nor did we hear of any, but i would not return due to having to be on guard throughout my holiday hear as you are supposed to be relaxing on holiday, not worring.
Pool Area - We never once went in the pool, the only reason why i booked this place was due the "heated" pool which was advertised. well it wasnt, i asked the guy in the pool bar and he didnt know, great answer i thought!.
The sunbeds were knackered, filthy and broken. the pool area was nice, its just a shame the rest of it was a let down.It was advertised on Hotels4u as 3 star.. i have been in many 3 starts and this was not one. it was more like a 2 star.
The positive side to these apartments is they are in a good location, 5-7 mins walk to the main strip, not 20 mins like previous people have said on here. and that they are a good place to lay your head, but sorry that is about it.
these apartments are not good in my opinion for children as the pools are very deep nor overally clean.
Puerto Del Carmen itself is lovely, this is my 2nd visit here. the main strip is very long, with numerous bars, resturants and shops. some places are expensive to eat, our favorite was Cantina resturant, thier breakfasts are the best on the strip, for 2.50 Euros you got, sausage, bacon, chips, toast, beans, egg, tea and orange juice.
also the best place for pizzas too.
we had a lovely couple of meals in the Galleon Inn. good price and english run.
their is a lilttle complex with a nightclub night life atmosphere, we only went to 3 off the bars their, one was a gay bar called punto's this was fun, with lots of spanish gay men who were very friendly along with Drag shows too ( you dont have to be gay to enjoy this!)
the other bar (where we only visited the once) and was our last called the Big Apple, a man dragged us in their from the front and told us we would get 2 "decent " cocktails along with a shot each for 7 euros, never again, we got there, had 2 cocktails which tasted of milk only, no free shot, and they would not give us our change back until we had to ask for it twice!.. avoid this place unless you love being ripped off!.
our favourite place was Attomic revelution, Danny who runs it, is a star. not only did he give us a free cocktail jug because it was my partners birthday he kept giving us free shots all night too!.. thier cocktails were 2 for 7 euros, and they were lush!, he used proper alcohol like smirnoff v, tia maria and baileys. and he always made to much in his mixer, so when we finshed our drink, he would top it up for free. this place is defo recommmed for a good night with a great DJ who constantly asks you for music requests old or new!.
overall, holiday was ok, would defo return to puerto del carmen, but with a different hotel.

“Good, will stay again”

Really good apartments that are clean. Well stocked kitchen area. Really comfy beds and pillows, we stayed in several apartments on Lanzarote in the month that we were there, these were the most comfy.

Pool freezing. Spacious rooms and a pleasure to stay. The rooms at the top of the town with a Spar supermarket about 175m walk on a parallel road and a very close bus stop. We had a hire car and plenty of easy parking.

Shower was useless, but the bath with super-hot water was a great substitute.

Next time we are on the island we will only be booking here.

“Basic but clean”

I have just stayed at these apartments with my wife and young child and another couple. We booked two separate rooms, however, they did have an inter-connecting door. This was okay as we were staying together, however, it may have been a problem otherwise due to noise. The main room in the apartment is spacious enough although the bedroom could have done to have been a bit bigger, especially as we had a cot in the room. The bathroom is a bit dated. What I cannot fault is the cleanliness, we had a cleaner in every day and fresh towels on a daily basis. The pool on arrival had a 'film' of dirt over it but this was cleaned on the second day (didn't venture in anyway as it was a bit nippy). The location is great, a 4-5 minute walk down to the Spar on the front and plenty of bars restaurants to go at in the immediate vicinity. You can also venture a couple of miles back towards Arrecife when you hit the promenade where you will find another small town with a few bars and a very large sandy beach en-route. If you head right when you reach the promenade, the harbour and old town are again a couple of miles. There are some very good restaurants with sea views overlooking the harbour. The best bar for views in the main part of the promenade is La Ola Cafe / Restaurant, although the beer and food is a bit more expensive than other bars. The average price for a large beer is 2€. You also do not need to bother with transfers as a taxi will only cost you 12€ to and from the airport.

“2nd stay and gone downhill”

i have just returned from our 2nd stay at these apartments and although last year was good this year was a little disappointing the pool is advertised as heated and was last year but not this year very cold and was told by the maintenance guy the boss told him to leave it off as it is too expensive!!!!. the apartments have a reputation for burglary's and 2 got done over whilst we were there what was very worrying was the fact the entries were by key!! and the poor old fellow that got done had to pay 50 euros for a interpreter. the apartments are basic and it takes around an hour to run a bath as the water pressure is rubbish i also got bitten to bits in my bed!!!. the staff are very helpful and the barman jay is a complete superstar. all in all it is very basic with its faults personally i will not go back due to the safety facts and other faults.

“cheap and cheerful”

I stayed here from 14th to 18th Nov 2100 with a friend. On arrival we had to collect our key from the bar as reception is not 24 hour, No problems with that though. The room was spacious although basic but it had everything we needed.
Our beds were so comfortable, we slept like logs ! Our shower however was useless, we never reported it though as we were only there for four nights and I thought they would give us another apartment but we couldnt be bothered to pack and unpack again.
The pool area was pleasant, 2 small pools and a bar which has happy hour from 5 till 6 pm, 2 pins of lager for 2.50 which is good VFM.
The apartments were a little out of the way, approx 15 mins from the shops and 20 mins from the beach, mostly flat walk though, no hills to climb.
Overall we had a pleasant stay, we paid £85 for mon to fri so cant complain. I would return again for that price .
